It's hopefully a lifestyle forever for me; after 2+ years of sticking to keto 95% of the time I never want to return to hell!

Brilliant to read!! I love keto and all its benifits too!

Maybe keep peanut or almond butter handy plus a spoon and some macadamias, roasted almonds, pecans etc and put one or 2 nuts on to a spoonful of the butter .. or coconut oil.

I wish I had an answer to this too. I often cook large joints of meats, slice, bag in portions and freeze. I weigh raw, then cooked but I also weigh the juices and then I try to calculate ... not easy! The juices ca weigh a lot. I've googled a bit and seen some tables about this for caterers/chefs but it doesn't totally…

How do you all work out the macros for your home made broth? I also find raw and cooked macros for meats difficult to calculate as there is meat juice to consider as well in the weights.

Brussel sprouts are fine, low in carbs. I have them at least once a week.

I wondered if I'd now tried everything and hoped I hadn't as new discoveries and recipes are great. Today I tried celeriac for the first time .... fantastic! Very different carb counts but I went for the count on the label (Tesco celeriac) Trimmed it weighed just under 800grams. I boiled and mashed half .. delicious, and I…

Sounds like a typical day for me too though sometimes I combine 2 meals, often having 2 or even 1 meal a day .. but lchf and as near to my calorie and nutritional requirements as I can get. The one thing that is different that I wish wasn't is aqua zumba! Wish I could overcome my fear of water! Have had 2 lots of swimming…

I'm so, so impressed! Congratulations indeed; what a life change!! You look very different and fantastic, wow!!

Hi again, nice to see you! I wasn't sure if I had enough or any useful enough info to share but for what it's worth ... I'm still slowly succeeding with high fat. A recently made change which I'm loving is kind of fasting each day until hungryish which is working out on average fasting from about 8pm till 3pm. Then the one…

Hi, I started at 14, stopped successfully at last at 34 after several failed attempts. One of my biggest achievements in life and what a sense of freedom as cigs controlled me! I knew I needed more help than before to succeed so I got the Alan Carr book, made a hypno appointment and had the fantastic chewing gum which,…

But there IS magic with low carb!!!! The magic is that cravings go, hunger goes, the need for will power is very dramatically reduced and therefore success is much more likely which gives such a good feeling as opposed to failing again and again!! That's if it's done correctly with good healthy choices including green veg,…

It's sad that people come to argue rather than allow the question to be answered. I nearly didn't reply as it feels intimidating. I've lost over 30 pounds so far, at a slow rate on keto and always feel much better mentally and physically on low carb. Yes, I could lose in many other ways but would fail as before due to…

bump for my neice!

So perfectly correct!! Ditch the dirty sugar and white flour and more and truly enjoy your food and no more crazy cravings for deadly junk!!!

I like Jessica Smith. Great topic thanx!

Oh yes, I certainly see adifference, very noticeable!!! Well done! I've lost 31 pounds and not one person who knows me yet has commented!!! For the first time ever though I'm not despondent; I just know eventually I will be a healthy weight and i'm excited about that. It certainly helps though to get compliments as a…

I sleep well on a very low carb way of eating which is not a fad but a healthy lifestyle choice .. a necessity for some with diabetes and other health issues. I feel much healthier in every aspect of my life. Mood is improved if anything. I believe in the early stages changes can be negative but they don't last. Many…

Wonderful, inspirational story!

Thanks, especially for adding macros! Must try, yum!

Lots of interesting points! Re Schug, like so many products, we're unlikely to find it here in the UK. Often those things have too many sus ingredients anyway, not that I eat near clean as yet. I really will try sometime to make my own. Can homemade also be heated for sauces? And how long will it keep? thanks! And to…

Great results! Yes, been doing keto for a year more or less, but only got the fat level high enough in last 3 or so months. Certainly I feel better in every way; can't think of any disadvantages. have mastered resaurants too and with cravings under control its very easy to order salad instead of fries and really enjoy!! I…

Big Congratulations!!!

I have a little cream most days. Since upping my fats I've been healhier and have lost more pounds. I was brainwashed by the saturated fat myth/mistake. There are dangerous fats, I believe, but they're not in cream or good meat. Processed foods, now that's a different matter! For a dish which includes cream I would…

I also suggest your friend looks at a keto diet, used widely for kids with epilepsy and wish her well.

Roast chicken with crispy skin with creamy garlic mushrooms and broc or brussel sprouts with butter, always so tasty and satisfying! or Sirloin steak with garlic butter and a salad of red onion, red, green and yellow peppers, tomato and cucumber with real mayo. Soooo many more!
-
Kristian, do please tell us what you ate on this so called unhealthy diet where weight loss didn't occur or was slow?? I know lots of us would love to know. Thanks.
-
Mine weren't gritty Cheryl, but of course had the texture of the coconut bits, which was nice.

I know where you're coming from. I like them but don't love them. Which isn't a bad thing!
