41 yr old mom of 2 here. My kids are school age now but when they were little I did many walks to the park and would work out while they played and joined a stroller running group. I did couch to 10k with some friends and then worked my way into half and full marathons when the kids were a bit older. I also had friends who…

Hai! Running is my jam. It's off season here on my little tropical island so I'm in maintenance mode.

Feel free to add me. I'm 41 and lost my weight a while ago (I was at 185, 5'5" after having my kids) but have mostly kept it off for the past 8 years. I fluctuate depending on whether it's marathon season or not. I'm very active and try to eat my veggies every day and also love real food. I can't live on protein shakes! I…

You can order sashimi. Seaweed salad or sea grapes, miso soup or edamame and skip the sushi or eat just a little. Sushi is made by mixing sugar and vinegar into the rice. Many people don't realize that! But it's so good, I know. Just be moderate with your choices.

My hubs takes Metamucil every day or he has problems despite eating plenty fruit and veggies. Also if you try miralax just be careful. When it hits it hits. Lol

I'm a distance runner and have had a wicked case of plantar fasciitis and it never truly goes away unless you deal with the underlying issues. That's where a Chiro with ART cert may help. Usually hip weakness or tight calves contribute to the PF. The fact that your feet hurt in the morning when you get up is a key symptom…

I lived in 29 Palms, CA and Yuma, AZ. I and many others ran all summer and even sometimes during the mid day heat. However, we were Marines and we trained in it daily. So it's possible but if you are new to it you need to slow down, listen to your body and not focus on speed and distance too much at first. If you are going…

Compression sleeves and a magnesium supplement may help with recovery if it's muscle soreness. If you are suffering from plantar fasciitis from being on your feet the good feet store can help. A chiropractor certified in ART can do wonders for you as well.

Living in Japan but feel free to add.

Depends on the activity. For instance today I ran10 miles in the heat up a huge hill. I will eat some, not all of those back. But yesterday I burned 200 calories on a leisurely walk with my daughter. I didn't eat those. I leave some room or error for calorie inaccuracies. You could try eating yours and track if it's…

The sodium could give you a temporary setback from retaining water but honestly I ate a slice of cake for dinner at a friend's birthday party this week and still lost a pound. Not saying that is an ideal plan but I was under my calories, had a good workout and I enjoyed the cake with my friend. If it keeps you happy with…

Good luck with your journey. Be consistent and set some small goals to encourage you along the way.

Train for a marathon or a triathlon. You are obviously disciplined and achieve your goals. Set a wildly different one!

41 here but still outrunning the whippersnappers. Looking for active friends at any stage of journey.

Eggs, beans, lentils, barley, nut butters. I cook a whole chicken most weeks and throw the shredded meat in a container to use next few days then use bones to make stock. Then I simmer carrots/butternut squash or whatever veggie I want and make a puréed veggie soup.

I think that's pretty normal to fluctuate a little. I'm just returning to logging now after a break and I do love what it does for me. I hope you have success as well.
-
I'm also coming back after a break. Feel free to add me!

I set my macros to include a higher percentage of fat and protein than usual and less carbs. Some of my favorite foods are eggs, avocado, nut butters, meats and I don't eat much dairy but when I do it's whole fat. You have to find what works for you. Since I'm often running or biking long distances the extra protein and…

Christine Salus on YouTube. Free and awesome workouts. Although she has "1000 calorie" workouts I don't think they are truly burning that much. That seems outrageous since running only burns 6-700 an hour. But, nonetheless I love the workouts. She has no equipment options, quiet workouts for apartment dwellers or workouts…

I have lost 50 lbs including the elusive "last 5" that are not so easily attained and have never used a single supplement. What I did do was eat clean, train to run marathons and lift weights. On my off days I do fun active things like hike or paddle board. That's it. More Vegetables and more exercise.
-
We make turkey, sweet potatoes (no added sugar), kale and red cabbage salad, lemony green beans and a carrot feta salad. Then pumpkin pie for dessert. We also always run about 6-7 miles that morning.
-
Just focus on getting stronger and eating clean. And look at food as fuel. It's fuel for your next workout. And if you aren't losing cut back on your calories in 100 increments or add one workout a week. Up your intensity or change what you are doing. If you aren't happy with results change something. If you are satisfied…

C25K is great. Ankle/foot/calf pain is normal when you start running because there are weaknesses. Do strength exercises and stretching. Listen to your body. If the pain starts to be injury pain back off and take a break. Soreness you should be able to work through though. Make sure you are working to strengthen hips and…

Trail running, paddle boarding, rowing machine. That's what I do and it makes my heart happy.

Veggies with white bean dip or guacamole. Or make a dip with Greek yogurt/lemon/herbs.
-
Bananas, sweet potatoes and white beans. White beans are fantastic for potassium. Add to chili, soup or make a dip. Also many of the entries on MFP just don't have that info added in. So check a few to compare and make sure you are getting an accurate entry.

Whew, busy week. Ran a half marathon this weekend, then rest day and two short runs since I last checked in. November is chugging right along.

I'm older than you but 5'5" female who started at 170 lbs after having kiddos 7 years ago. I'm now 135 lbs for the last two years after holding steady at 150 for three years prior to that. I currently run 20-30 miles a week and lift, swim and paddle board to cross train. I have done this all eating no more than 1300-1800…
