I keep eating to much fat lol! I don't eat a lot of carbs and I don't eat dairy, I feel like i'm not really going hard on fat but it's always over. Any tips on how to cut down in this area while staying fairly low carb and dairy free?

Why does this matter? How many gram per day are you getting? How much protein? Fat doesn't make you fat. Excess calories do.

You probably need to open your food diary to get this answered.

If you go low-carb, that generally means you're compensating with more fat. It's not a bad thing as long as you're within your calories. Fat is important for health, anyway, so I wouldn't worry about being over :)

Unless you have some bile issues going over fat is fine.

What are your reasons for wanting to lower your fat? I do a happy dance on the days i get over 60g. I do best on lots of fat and protein, which can be a struggle sometimes!

I set my macros to include a higher percentage of fat and protein than usual and less carbs. Some of my favorite foods are eggs, avocado, nut butters, meats and I don't eat much dairy but when I do it's whole fat. You have to find what works for you. Since I'm often running or biking long distances the extra protein and fat keeps me satisfied and able to workout longer.

If you eat low carb, you should have higher fats. Macro's do not control weight change, that is dictated by calorie intake.

Carbs+Protein+Fat, by percentage, add up to 100 (well, unless you have some alcohol in there).

If you reduce carbs, and already have protein at a good level (as you should), it makes sense to compensate by going higher fat.

And if you are looking at percentages, and cut carbs, by definition protein and fat will have to go up to make it add up to 100.

I didn't think you could be both low carb and low fat. Low carb is supposed to be higher fat. And by the way - higher fats don't make you fat - it's eating too many calories.

Most people who do low carb do high fat...you don't want to substantially restrict two macros.
