I agree! Maybe as a society we could eat fewer carbs but they are by no means the Devil! Tonight I will be enjoying a peanut butter sandwich.

Chick pea tabbouleh and a dollop of homemade hummus.

Hi, I'm 44 and female, let's all be friends!
-
Stir fry veg and tofu with a little bit of chilli/garlic sauce and tamari. Hot!

Peanut butter is my downfall. I get the natural kind, just peanuts and try to eat it in moderation when I could eat the whole jar. "Light" versions of nearly everything are a con.

Don't weep! Weigh yourself at the weekend so you don't have to wait a week!
-
Hi, I'll add you!

I want to be able to wear my favourite trousers again! And jeans. I refuse to buy bigger clothes.

Orzotto! Risotto made with barley. Oh it's good. Here's a recipe! I leave out the dairy as I'm vegan, but oh it's great with kale. http://www.cbc.ca/inthekitchen/2011/11/orzotto-with-kale.html

Hi, this is a quiet group, but I'd love to join you. I found Low GI alone didn't help me lose weight but I think I eat pretty healthily anyway. So I'm trying to remain low GI while counting calories with MFP. How we all doing?

Hi, I'm new to the group. I'm STARVING today!
-
Hi! I'm new here. I'm trying Low GI for weight loss, mainly as a healthy diet. I'm vegan and finding information about a vegan low GI diet is tricky!
-
I am trying to stick to a lower GI diet and fewer processed foods. I think combining the calorie approach with low GI, unprocessed foods with occasional less healthy options is much more sustainable.

Potato scones, peanut butter by the jar, and crisps.

I'm aiming for 62kg/137pounds. That's where my clothes fit. I'm a medium/large frame, big hands, big feet!

Kale Orzotto - delicious, easy, low GI food. It's based on a Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall recipe. You can spice it up with onions and various other veg but it's great as is. Ingredients (for 2) 120g spelt/barley 250ml stock 100ml white wine curly kale 1. Add the spelt or barley to a heavy bottomed pan, just cover with stock…

I lost weight after 40 on Weightwatchers! I did put it all back on again but I'm trying again. Starting now!

Hello fellow vegan people. I've been vegan for about 15 years, I'm new here and I'd like some vegan friends to help me along the way, so feel free to add me! I was vegetarian but while sharing a flat with a vegan flatmate, I gradually switched over and I've never looked back! I'm on medication that has made me put on…

Until I was on this drug, swimming gave me a migraine. I prefer walking (I walk to work) and I'm trying to get a bike. if I have time, I'm going to a local bike shop tomorrow for a look.

Oh, I know! I tried a drug called topiramate for migraine prevention. A desirable side effect is weight loss, but I've never felt so ill for years on it! At least I feel well on the mirtazipine. Maybe logging what I eat will be enough to get me on track. Thanks for replies, everyone.

I've tried various different medications to reduce my migraines on the advice of my neurologist, this is at least the fifth one I've tried and it is the only one that's worked at all. It's been a long hard journey trying to become migraine free. i am delighted at the lack of migraines, naturally, but it's unfortunate that…

Thanks, suleng. I don't want to be counting counting, log gin, logging, but I will just keep expanding if I don't do something about it now. I've been 2 stone heavier than I am now, so I'm not at my heaviest, but I don't want to get any bigger. I'm also a vegan, and don't drink, so a lot of the things that people do to…

The first time I was on this drug I put on three stone (36lb) in three months. Then I changed drugs. But this time I'm on the drug for a different reason and I don't want to come off it as I feel so much better (I'm using it for migraine prophylaxis). I can't really do what other people call exercise as I have rheumatoid…

I'm on mirtazipine for migraine prophylaxis. It's wonderful that my migraines have almost vanished after years of borderline chronic migraine (12 per month), but I've put on 7kg in 6 weeks, while trying to lose weight. I can't come off this drug as I cannot go back to that time of agony and vomiting and having no control…
