  • I also have Hashimoto's, and thankfully my thyroid levels are fine right now. Instead of meds my doctor suggested controlling it with diet first, and I've recently started following what is basically an autoimmune paleo diet (google "The Autoimmune Solution" for the book - it basically works to reduce inflammation in the…
  • 34H here. I have used Freya in the past, but got introduced to Anita active extreme control bras and I'm never going back. I love them. They have other kinds too, but extreme control is the only one I've tried and keeps everything locked down for me, lol.
  • You look amazing!!
  • Oh wow, thanks guys. So, you all are saying I shouldn't wear the skinny jeans? ;) Thank you to whoever bumped this - I needed to read this today, and you all are so encouraging! You guys rock!
  • Thank you! My tips are probably nothing you haven't heard before, but what worked for me: - invest in a good HRM. Once I got one the weight came off more quickly because I had a more accurate idea of what I was burning. Even if you do the same workout your intensity may be different, and I was just blindly trusting…
  • Tomorrow is a new day. Heck, why wait? Stop posting here and go log today's calories. :)
  • You can still eat carbs on a gluten free diet - potatoes are the first thing that comes to mind.
  • Why I went gluten free (against my will, at first): I had surgery in 2011 (sayonara, non-functioning gallbladder!). I was still having a lot of pain, and super long story short after a year they finally figured out it was nerve pain. Since I wasn't too jazzed about getting a needle put in my spine for a nerve block, my…
  • Isn't that the best? Congrats!!!
  • That's amazing!! Way to go!

  • My first lesson is tomorrow! So nervous/excited! :)
  • I third Florence Welch and Kelly Clarkson. Love them both. I'm also adding Sara Bareilles to the list - that girl can just reach right into your chest and rip your heart out with her voice.
  • I have a feeling this will be my experience too. Water relaxes me - and the mere thought of being in the water has always been a good visualization technique when I'm trying to relax.
  • Thank you for the tips, everyone! I didn't realize you could get fitted for a suit so I will definitely need to look into that - the girls need to be locked down, lol. I also had no idea they made prescription goggles. I am blind as a bat without my glasses, so if this is something I get into I will definitely look into…
  • I didn't know they came in sizes - mine has an adjustable strap. If you're not sure, go bigger and get the M. You can always adjust it down, you can't adjust it up.
  • I have the FT60 and I looooove it. It has made all the difference in my workouts/calorie burn. I don't know if this is true, but I do it just to be on the safe side - I read somewhere that you should un-clip the actual monitor from the strap when you're not using it. It's supposed to help with the battery life, apparently.
  • Way to go!! That is awesome!
  • I have the same problem when I have a day to just relax. I started trying something so simple the last couple weeks... and it's working. As silly as it may sound - I sat in a different spot on the couch. I used to plop down in the middle, turn on the tv, get bored, and eat. I tried sitting somewhere different and... I…
  • Me! I never went to meetings, but did the online tracker on and off for a few years with varying degrees of success. I also didn't like that fruits and veggies were free - I think I understand the reasoning behind it, but at the end of the day those things have calories! I like MFP so much better for many reasons, but the…
  • Sounds like Plantar Fascitis. Stretching really helps. Try rolling a golf or tennis ball over the area to help break it up (ball on floor, you roll it around with your foot). It made a world of difference for me.
  • Congrats!! This is my next goal - only 17 pounds away...
  • Have you talked to your gastro? Ask him/her about Cholestrymine. It tastes awful, but it helps. I had mine out last summer, and it was basically a nightmare. I won't bore you or scare you with the details, but things that I've learned since then: - eating verrrrry slowly helps a lot. And I mean slow. - going gluten free…
  • I wear sports bras by Goddess and I love them. Worth the money. Now, if only I could find good pants/capris...
  • Thank you for starting this thread. I started using food for comfort around the age of 10 when my parents got divorced. My mom was doing the same thing, and looking back I realize I learned a lot of my bad eating habits from her - some of my memories of us spending time together involve watching TV and eating mindlessly. I…
  • I agree with what the others have said... I will add that September and early October are probably your best bets.
  • I'm looking forward to a massage and a mani/pedi at a nice spa!
