I bake my sweet potatoes and then top them off with either yogurt, cottage cheese, or eat then plain! I could eat them for every meal of the day :)

I work at an athletics store where we specialize in gait analysis and shoe/insert fitting. If the pain is in the ball of your foot, I'm thinking that it is either morton's neuroma or sesamoiditis.
