Yes, coming from little or no exercise, increasing my level of outdoor activities (running, hiking, biking, skiing) has helped and still help me to lose fat AND gain muscle. If I came from lifting to only cardio, I would agree with you that I would lose muscle along with fat.

Yes! Me! Only running outdoor and eventually skiing in winter. I've lost 7kg, mainly fat, and I've also gained some lean mass.

I think that 800 is way too much. I burn 400 too, but i'm quite small (1.58 cm).

It's way better have fruits in the "solid" state: the same amount of fruit makes you feel fuller than blended/processed form, so became very easy exceed in calories.

I don't know if drinking water really helps you lose weight or not, but for sure diet soda helps you gain it! No-calory sugar substitutes have the same insuline response that sugar, so drinking soda you will get hungrirer and you will store fat more quickly than drinking water.
