Not at all. My parents have terrible taste in people. You can tell because you can see who they married.

Yes, weight loss is possible without excerse. Obviously, try to do whatever physical activity you can as that is best for overall health and physical maintence. But weightloss depends mostly on diet rather than physical activity.

Well, not knowing your wife's personality, I wouldn't recommend this 100% but within my circle of people, if any of us complain about something we can change without trying to fix the issue we are complaining about, we all pretty much say something along the lines of : "If you aren't going to do something about it, don't…

"Oh, you can wear whatever you want with your body."

My grandmom died. She had complications from being overweight which prevented her from being able to undergo a surgery that could have saved her life. That, and not wanting diabetes. Daily (non-alcoholic) shots? No thanks.

Your caloric intake depends on your size. At 4'11 you won't need as much food as someone taller or bigger than you to fuel your daily activities. It just all depends on your size and what results you're trying to get. Like I said, use a calorie calculator to get a basic sense of what might work and adjust your intake up or…

It sounds like you're more concerned about looking toned up? If that's the case, don't worry too much about eating a deficit to lose weight and take up weight lifting to tone your body. And lift heavy weights-- no, you won't get bulky.

No, metabolism isn't wrecked is such a short time. Actually, metabolism doesn't have much bearing on your weight. http://www.mayoclinic.org/slow-metabolism/expert-answers/faq-20058480 As for how much you should be eating, that depends on your current weight. I'm not sure, but 700-800 calories is probably too little for…

I think it'd be best to find someone to talk to, preferably a professional. Emotional pain is very difficult to just "get over" on your own. I think once you talk that out, motivation will come easier. For now, just get in the habit of logging and learning about nutrition. Best of luck to you hun.

"Individuals experiencing starvation lose substantial fat (adipose) and muscle mass as the body breaks down these tissues for energy. Catabolysis is the process of a body breaking down its own muscles and other tissues in order to keep vital systems such as the nervous system and heart muscle (myocardium) functioning.…

Wait... what? Why would being thin mean that they don't know anything about nutrition? Or like fatty foods? My boyfriend has never had an issue with weight-- he's always been very fit but he still is knowledgeable about nutrition. Because you have to have knowledge about nutrition to stay fit. My boyfriend LOVES high…

Be careful if you get fitted at Victoria's Secret (or any bra store I guess) and try on the bra before you buy it. The fitter there tried to stuff me into a C cup when I need a DD. She was confused when I tried on the DD and saw it fit perfectly. :noway:

Take to lifting weights and doing push ups. Keeping your pecs in good shape will help your boobs look better.

The point is that it's still not healthy?

Knock it off buddy. Throwing around facts will make it hard to be outraged.

You've gained because you most definitely consumed less than 1200 calories to weigh 97 pounds at your height. In all likeliehood you consumed quite a bit less than 1000 calories per day. Consume more calories and you gain weight.
-
I drink. I don't drink a whole lot, but I enjoy hard liqour every once in awhile and I managed to lose. Just make room for it. And you didn't gain five pounds of fat over the weekend. It's probably water weight.
-
Well, it's certainly not the case everywhere. Where I live, junk foods cost quite a bit more than better quality foods. Chips, sodas, and cookies-- even the store brand versions-- cost less than nearly all the fruits and vegetables at the grocery store I visit. The only exceptions are for exported speciality items. If I…

The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition seems to disagree with you: "We conclude that a calorie is a calorie. From a purely thermodynamic point of view, this is clear because the human body or, indeed, any living organism cannot create or destroy energy but can only convert energy from one form to another. In comparing…

She has a nice body but she IS plus sized. According to herself, the model wears a size 12, which puts her into plus size category in the fashion world. What's the big deal? Why should it make anyone feel bad if they're labeled as "plus sized"?
-
I assumed we were talking about actual starvation-- whether you feel hungry or not, if you were starving, your body would experience extreme hunger pains, you'd lose hair, have no energy to do anything, and basically cease to have proper bodily function.
-
How exactly did so many read this as propaganda? It's nothing of the sort-- the picture on its own doesn't make ANY mention of clean eating nor is it blaming corporations for bloated portion sizes. It is simply pointing out that portions have gotten larger (they have) and one result of this change is that many people now…
-
No. If you were starving, you would most certainly feel it. Make sure your calorie measurements are accurate-- no guessing.
-
Nope, at least not without some medical issue that makes it very difficult to gain weight. People who are thin tend not to eat as much and naturally (and healthily) restrict intake. My boyfriend for example, may eat a whole lot in one sitting, but won't eat much else during the rest of the day. He also tends to burn a lot…
