LOL I didn't flag anybody. If my comments inspire randoms on the internet to jump down my throat, oh well. And I am in the medical field, working with cardiac and renal patients, I talk to others about their body weight on the reg. Unfortunately most people don't want to hear the truth, because they think it's normal to be…

Personally I'm waiting for Chinese foot-binding to come back in vogue.

I only commented because in her previous post she described herself as "thick" from lots of strength training, which is why she has an overweight BMI. To me, that means you should be significantly more muscular than her pictures show. If she felt shamed by my comment, I apologize for that. But I don't think people should…

To stay in the same vein as my previous posts, all I will say is that you look like a normal weight & body fat percentage.

*shrug* It's a medical term. Would you be offended if stated your blood pressure, thinking it was normal, and someone told you that it was actually hypertensive?
-
I don't know why people are getting offended to an objective observation. You're the one adding the emotional connotation to terms relative to weight and body fat. It's like saying someone's hair looks brown, not blonde.
-
The April 2013 one? You look like a normal, healthy weight in that one.
-
Please someone show me a person with a BMI of 24 who looks anorexic.
-
A BMI of 24 would make you look like Calista Flockhart? Prove it.

Meh, an internet forum means nothing to me. I'm a nurse and wish I had the balls to say the same thing to my patients in real life. =/

Sorry to be blunt, but we've become so desensitized to what a normal body weight looks like, with 60+% of Americans overweight. I'm not trying to insult anyone, I'm just trying to be objective. She looks like she has a BMI >25, and not with a muscle-builder's low body fat %. Why sacrifice our health just to fit into the…

You're still technically overweight. If you want curves, do strength training. A normal weight person with proportionate boobs looks better than an overweight person with larger boobs.
-
I still think you look overweight, too much body fat.

I do not eat back daily exercise calories. Usually whatever formula they use to calculate calories burned are far too generous. In general, we tend to overestimate how many calories we burn with exercise, and underestimate how many we eat.

Avoid rapid weight loss, 1-2 pounds a week is a good goal. Too rapid of weight loss and your skin elasticity won't keep up. Start weight training. Having well-defined muscle hides/minimizes loose skin. Drink water! Skin elasticity is also affected by hydration.

Thanks everyone! I guess I will log as whole/vitamin D just to be safe.

You can only control your own actions, not others. Just because your boyfriend chooses not to make healthy choices doesn't mean you can't. Let him eat his pizza and prepare your own food separately. You never know, maybe when he sees you making changes and succeeding he will join you. Or maybe he won't. But that's on him,…

I wonder if this isn't more about the relationship between you and your mother than your health and diet? What I'm trying to say is, if she wasn't nitpicking about your diet or weight, would she simply start nitpicking something else about you? It's almost as if she is looking for an excuse to fight.

DSM 5 Criteria for Binge Eating Disorder A. Recurrent episodes of binge eating (same as bulimia nervosa) B. Binge eating episodes are associated with three (or more) of the following 1. I'll let you in on a secret: nobody on here actually knows what they're talking about. Just try different things till you find what works best for you & your goals. fyi the term/concept "starvation mode" is a load of ****.

You need fat & protein, you will feel less hungry! Try nuts & nut butters, seeds, coconut milk/cream/oil, avocado, olive oil, soy, tofu, beans (beans + corn = a complete protein, try making beans & rice and mixing in some corn). Try spreading peanut butter or other nut butter on your bananas and sprinkle with chia seeds.…

Re-plan out the rest of your calories for the day today. And there is nothing wrong with a "thanks, but no thanks  " If this is something that happens regularly in the office, can you privately talk to the person who brings in the food about how you don't want to be rude and you appreciate the gesture but you're…

Cheeeeeese, such as string cheese, cottage cheese, Laughing Cow, etc. Hard boiled egg. Veggies dipped in hummus. Deli meat slices rolled up with cheese or lettuce/sprouts. Raw or dry-roasted nuts & seeds (measure out your serving size on these, easy to over indulge otherwise).
-
Sounds like you are just in a rut. Maybe you are bored with what you usually have? Try experimenting with new recipes or fruits & veggies you've never had before.

Probably would call 911 lol.

Buy dry rice & beans in bulk at Indian grocery stores, they're really cheap compared to regular grocery stores. Cabbage is always a cheap, healthy veggie to cook with. Buy other fruits & veggies in season, they will be richer in nutrients and cheaper, too.
