  • I just noticed today that it's (again) not syncing. And when I click disconnect from in the MFP app, it instantly reconnects itself, even though I revoked access. So annoying.
  • Hi everyone! Day 7 here :) I did P90X a few times a few years ago (and became a coach) and the scale didn't move a lot so I quit. Then later I saw that I actually had lost a bit and it all re-arranged nicely. Which I noticed when I was no longer in good shape. I'm a military wife and a friend told me we coach for free, so…
  • I agree with rumijs. I've counted calories and exercised and haven't been too successful. I'm short (5') and looking at 1200 calories a day is scary. Just having nice little containers to fill is nice. It's helpful for me to have something laid out specifically and do that. And I'm a "coach" and have been a "coach" before,…
  • I'm doing it now! Only day 6 but seeing positive changes and feeling better-/I've even been getting less migraines. After I do round one, I'll repeat it and then go back to P90X3. [Edited by MFP Mods]
  • I don't really like millet but this recipe is like the best thing ever - http://yumuniverse.com/creamy-millet-and-kale-salad/
  • Hi! Vegan for 9 years here. Anyone can add me, but send a message so I know you're vegan, and only if you're actually vegan. Vegan vegan. Not vegan I sometimes eat whatever, but always vegan. :D If I'm all "ooh, lookit that person lost weight, I want to see what they've done" and you've got whatever non-vegan food there,…
  • I think that all vegan foods are fine in moderation. You never hear anyone freaking out over the hormones in cow milk. emmydoodles, if you mean the dermatographia, my daughter had that briefly - it turns out she was reacting to something after I changed laundry detergents (from method to ECOS. I switched back and gave it a…
  • I'm 5 and currently 148ish (I keep going back and forth between 147.8 and 150.4). I was 123 before I got pregnant (my baby is almost 7. whoops) and I got up to 170-something while pregnant. 2 years ago I was down to 133 but I stopped working out and I'd quit gluten (I'm not allergic but I'm "sensitive") but restarted it.…
  • I totally get the not adding non-vegans! If someone is doing a good job on their weight loss journey, I don't want to open their food diary to see what they're doing only to see that they're eating animals I don't eat. How inspired can I, as a vegan, be by someone who isn't? I want to see what vegans are doing well so I…
  • I bought a Good4U Dehydrator which is basically a cheap Excalibur rip off. I got a 9 tray but in retrospect I'd probably get the Excalibur 4 tray. HOWEVER, I realized I don't like most dehydrated foods either - I had a few that were so gross they threw me off raw as a whole for awhile. I'm currently still not RAW (but…
  • I've done both and I prefer MFP. The pages are cleaner - the SP ones are all cluttered.
  • also they have adorable drawings with all recipes and they have a cookbook coming out!
  • 5' CW 148.6 HW 169 (pregnant) GW 120
  • Yes! My scale was giving me crazy variations too, even with new batteries. I bought that Eat Smart scale and it stays much more consistent numbers that are very similar to doctor's office scales, usually exactly the same.
  • oh right! i always forget i have like 2 bottles of dr. bronner's.
  • Yeah meanies are bad! There are definitely a-hole vegans out there. You make your own soap! That's pretty awesome. Is it easy or hard?
  • this is me! at 5' i want 123, but if it goes lower I will take it :D
  • Agreed, but it's because of people who call themselves vegetarian but eat chicken or fish, and people who say they are vegan but eat fish or have dairy cheese sometimes that makes the whole thing confused. This is why when I tell people I'm a vegan, a lot of the time they say "oh but you eat fish/chicken/cheese right?"…
  • sparlingo, you're still going! amazing :)
  • Just wanted to wish you good luck - sticky vibes and a healthy life and all that :) I'm trying hard to lose weight and my hubs and I are considering trying again in about 9 months.
  • Smoothies are my favorite - 1 cup milk (usually soy, sometimes coconut), 2-3 tbsp protein powder (2 rice or 3 hemp), 1-2 frozen bananas, and some other kind of fruit. I sometimes add water to thin it out if I want it to last longer.
  • i alternate between the nutribiotic rice protein in vanilla and the nutiva hemp powder. if you have a vitamin shoppe nearby, mine lets me exchange a protein powder if i buy it and hate it.
  • I hate stevia but otherwise that sounds awesome. I haven't seen key limes in a long time though :(
  • I love the pepperjack between two corn tortillas - just pan fry and eat. Extra yummy stuffed with BBQ soy curls.
  • mmmm to be vegan you call the nutritional yeast "nooch" and it is yummy for lots of things - soups, popcorn, pasta, etc. sometimes i blend a 1:1 mix of walnuts:nooch to make a cheesy substance for sprinkling.
  • I've been vegan 9ish years. I thought quitting cheese would be hard, but it was easier than I thought. Casein, which is in cheese, is actually addictive. Also, a lot of cheeses have rennet in them, which is part of the cow stomach, so tons of cheese isn't even really vegetarian. Also, you're lucky - there are some really…
  • I've had my vitamix about 5 years and I love it. I got a used one (with the same warranty as new) for $398 but it was worth it because I burned out at least 2-4 blenders before it. My mom bought a magic bullet and gave it to me and it worked once and never again, but she'd bought it at Bed Bath and Beyond so the magic…
  • Aww you guys! Most of these weights are so realistic and healthy minded - makes me happy! I'm 5' so I'm supposed to weigh like 95-120 or so. I was 123 before I got pregnant with my daughter (in 2006, eep) and I gained 56 pounds to 179. I've been battling hard the last 4 years and I got down to 133 2 years ago, but then my…
  • Thanks! I weigh myself every day and it doesn't always feel productive, but I'm pretty good at not taking the numbers badly. If I step on and the scale goes up and I know I was working out and eating well then I just jump off the scale and move on. In general I only track my losses on MFP and I have a period tracker app on…
  • A little bit! I bet a side view would help. Are you taking measurements?
