Hi, here is mine. http://www.runningwithoutawatch.com/ Basically, I was getting so frustrated with focusing on time and speed, my work outs became misberable. I gave up the watch and have been running consistently ever since. I also dropped the last 12 pounds I have been trying to. (I have lost 50 total from my highest…

I have not added any other ingredients to the recipe. Every once in a while when I need a chocolate fix, I put some chocolate chips on a piece and melt in the microwave for about a minute. It is very simple. My kids really enjoy helping me make it and they enjoy eating it as well. Jay

I have a great one that I posted on my blog. Pics included. I eat a piece of this right before I head out for my run. This provides enough fuel to keep me going for 60-90 minutes. Enjoy!!! http://www.runningwithoutawatch.com/2012/07/banana-bread.html Jay

When we were playing softball and one of my teammates patted me on the belly with a comment. I was about 196 then. Now I am down to around 160. Jay

Just keep at it. It will take time. When you say 30 minutes of activity on a regular basis for a month what does that mean? 5 days a week? Everyday? What are you eating. Losing weight is like saving money. Calories in. Vs Calories out. We are all here for you when you need to vent. Jay

I would have to disagree with this statement. I lost 45 pounds by running. I hardly lifted weights. I may have done some pushups, but the main activity was and still is running. Diet is the key. I never drank anything but water. Many times people think if they are running, they can eat what ever they want. I wrote about…

You hit double digits, so why not!!

I have this issue as well. I love to eat and snack all day, especially at work. Since I had difficulty in changing this habit, I found a workout. I keep numerous cut fruits and vegetables with me all day. This way when I am mindless eating, its something healthy. Jay

I'll top your 12 with 15. I had sweet potatoes with broccoli and cauliflower with dinner. Jay

Welcome. What are you eating? What are you doing for exercise? How often are you exercising? Jay

Start with walking. Then after a while add some jogging and running. Walking may take longer, but it will pay off. I used to weigh myself every day and then I went to the once a week. At the Beginning stick to once a week. I used to weigh myself on Thursdays before the weekend would begin. Jay

Welcome. How long have you been trying to lose weight? I kept telling myself the weight didn't come on overnight, why would it fall off overnight. What are you eating? What kind of exercising are you using? Hang in there. Jay

Thanks for all your replies. I may have to give it a shot. At least see which free books are out there and maybe read some old classics. But I still enjoy the feel of the book. I love having books all around the house. I think its important for my kids to see lots of books and to develop a love of reading. I love used…

Good for you!! My mom used to do that when we were younger. 20 minutes is 20 minutes. There is no hard and fast rule that it has to be done at a certain time. Jay

We have all been there. Just the other day, I hit the bakery for some cookies, the vending machine for oreos, chips and a kitkat!!! It happens. Just get back up and continue. You did not put the weight on overnight, why should it come off overnight. If you are so tired from your workouts, maybe you should switch what you…

Adjust your schedule. Sometimes I eat cereal and milk for dinner when I am craving it. Just don't eat a full dinner and then a bowl of cereal and milk. What kind of cereal do you eat? I use honey nut cheerios mixed with my homemade granola. Jay Recipe for my granola:…

Soda was the first thing I gave up when I started to lose weight. I used to drink a lot of diet coke. Ironically, this was when I was my heaviest (50 pounds heavier than I am now). It was hard, but I replaced the soda with black coffee and water depending on the purpose. Jay

Yes. Big time today!!!

I also do my running outside. When I go to a hotel to run, I put the treadmill on a 1% incline to keep me. Try to find something good on the T.V. to keep you occupied while using the treadmill. Jay http://www.runningwithoutawatch.com

I do not take any food with me on my runs. My longest is maybe 7 or 8 miles. I eat a slice of my homemade banana bread. I have the recipe on my blog. I eat a piece of this right before I head out for my run. This provides enough fuel to keep me going for 60-90 minutes.…

If it aint broke, dont fix it. If the asics are working fine for you, I would not change them. I wear the brooks adrenaline as well. I have been wearing these for over 6 years. I changed earlier this year to try a cheaper shoe made by brooks. I wound up hurting my foot and being sidelined for a week. Jay

Portion Control. Eating fresh fruit and vegetables as my snacks all day. Cooking my own meals. If I had a slip up, not letting it affect the next day. Also, i started Running Without a Watch. I stopped focusing on how fast or how far I was running and just got out there. Jay http://www.runningwithoutawatch.com/
