  • Sorry to hear of your tumour. I had Follicular Lymphoma earlier this year and went through radiation treatment. I didn't have to have chemo though. It takes a toll on you. May things work out the best for you. Keep up the fight.
  • Yeah I feel like I'm always fighting the weight. Manage to get into an exercise routine and then get off track again. I know a big part of my problem too is emotional eating. Plus when I was young my Father made sure we always had lots too eat. There wasn't as much talk like today about food and nutrition. I'm use to…
  • 44 and would like to lose anything at this point. Would love to be down about 70 pounds though. Find it extremely difficult.
  • Thank you all. I'm surprised at the number of people who do actually work out at home.
  • Oh and I may add that I find it hard with Chinese Buffet's. Best to avoid if at all possible. You really have to guess at how much you've had for portions and it always ends up being far too many calories. But I do have family that likes to go once in a while, so it's hard not to join in on the eating. Especially with the…
  • Yes I like Soy Sauce on my rice too. I noticed one day there wasn't a lot of calories but sodium count was very high.
  • From Canada as well. In Ontario.
  • I agree with a lot of what people are saying and asking. Is this date specifically your goal or for other reasons? If you don't lose it all by than but have lost weight, don't be hard on yourself. Healthy weight loss of any sort is good. When it comes to motivation I hear you. I find it hard myself but there is a lot of…
  • So I'm seeing "The Big Fat Surprise: Why Butter, Meat and Cheese Belong in a Healthy Diet" and "The Big Fat Surprise Recipes: 80 Delicious and Healthy Fat Foods, Lose weight Eating the Foods you Love ". Are they both good or is one better than the other? I'll add them to the list of books to read.
  • Great job. That's good you're down that much in a month. Congratulations. Keep up the good work.
  • Unfortunately, most days I'm in the red numbers. Too be honest I sometimes don't know why I keep logging. But I do it anyway. It's like a habit now.
  • Yes I'd probably say I am a quantity eater. It's a habit that goes way back. A habit that I'll admit is hard to break. If I'm really enjoying a dish of food at dinner, then I do go back for more. I may not feel full, but I'm also not hungry. But I'm like that's really good and away I go having more. I don't really have…
  • It's not so much my wife wanting or forcing me to lose. I think she'd like to see me reach my goals and has tried to help before. She just got upset with me when I'd say want that extra at dinner and she's telling me No. She'd say you're not listening anyway so why do I bother. I see her point. Although she's not really…
  • Thanks for the info. I'll have to check them out.
  • I think for me I'd have to insert Pizza too. Maybe even lasagna. Love it all. But pizza is definitely a hard one for me too. Plus I do find it hard, say when my work is having a potluck or even family. There is so much good food around and you want to try it all. It's hard to hold back and just say no when it's all right…
  • You've been logging in for a long while now. What is it that keeps you here? I've been actually logging for quite some time. I use to have a program on my computer called Fit Fare (Believe that's the name). I came across this site and liked how I could sync it with my app on my phone. I've just kept it up and it's hard to…
  • Thanks for the recommendation. I may need to check that out. I need to change the way I think about food for sure. Just been all my life, one way of thinking and it's extremely hard for me to change it. Often when I've watched The Biggest Loser shows and see the trainers sitting and talking with the contestants about what…
  • Just reveiwing some of these old posts. Starting to get discouraged again. But looking back at my weight logs I probably am down some in weight since I originally posted. Guess I've hit a plateau and now have to try and get over it. I thought I'd check what people told me before to see what I may respark in me.
  • Yeah it's sad when it starts getting nasty. We're suppose to be here to help each other out not put each other down. Instead of leaving your opinion and moving on, some have to keep debating. Oh well. I know I had found posts to it, but when I clicked on it, I got a message saying I didn't have the permissions. It must…
  • I suffered with anxiety more so then depression. It's not easy I know and hard to get back on track. I wish you well in your journey to recovering from it.
  • When searching and it pulls up, on the computer you're able to click on nutritional value. Then you can click on edit from there. I've not tried it on the app yet.
  • Yeah at times I have created my own entry. I just figure then the database is getting flooded with extra entries. Becomes hard to know what is the right one at the time. Guess another struggle with trying to lose weight. I guess though so long as you're within a couple hundred calories one way or the other. Preferably in…
  • I hear how you feel. I was at the beginning of the year last year going to the gym regularly. Now I haven't been there in over a month. Since about mid last year I've went once in a while and that's all. I seem to have lost motivation too. I find it hard to get the motivation back.
  • Bought a charge last night.
  • Very great transformation. My highest weight was 318lbs and I'm now stuck around the 280lb mark. I struggle with emotional eating and I'm trying to figure out how to retrain my brain to stop that. Every day I go over my calorie count and I find I mainly blow it at night when I'm bored. I don't smoke, drink or do drugs. I…
  • Great work. Plus keeping the self control to stay on track. That's my biggest problem is not having the self control to stop myself from snacking when I don't need too. Plus exercising when I should. It's great though seeing that other people are doing it.
  • Well ever since I was young I'd get on track for exercising and trying to lose weight. Of course when I was younger there was never all this talk of tracking calories or exercising. But I use to work out with weights and ride my bike a lot. I'd even get to the point where I was starting to enjoy it. Then something would…
  • I'm an emotional eater too. If I feel stressed, nervous or even bored I'll grab food. I'm not even hungry yet I'll eat something and sometimes keep eating. It's after the fact that I say, "Why did I just do that?" I've never smoked, but I've said that I compare it to a smoker trying to quit smoking. For some people it's…
  • That is awesome. You did an excellent job and must feel so great. Just wish I could get focused and do the same.
  • Thanks for the infor. Guess I won't bother using it than.
