Incorrect nutrition information

Lately when logging my food I've been noticing incorrect nutritional information. The other day I had to update just about all the numbers before adding to my meals. I had went to Harvey's ( I know bad for me). When I checked the database I found most of what I was looking for and some even had 3 or 4 confirmed entries. But when I checked their website, the numbers were off. I edited them and put the date I corrected it.
I don't know if it's a difference between U.S. and Canada or some people inputting wrong information. That or if it's a case of the nutrition changing in the food since the last time it was entered in the food database.
Just makes me question how accurate my calorie count is when I'm out and just logging my food and not checking websites and actual nutrition information to see if it's correct.

Calorie counts are often different between countries (welcome to the food industry). It can also be info changing since it was entered.
The best thing to do might be to make your own entry instead of correcting ones already in there.0 -

Yeah at times I have created my own entry. I just figure then the database is getting flooded with extra entries. Becomes hard to know what is the right one at the time. Guess another struggle with trying to lose weight. I guess though so long as you're within a couple hundred calories one way or the other. Preferably in my favour though.

I found bananas today that were listed at 11,000 calories per banana (in the database, not real bananas, of course). I do wonder how that happens. How do you go about correcting or pointing out that something is really off with an entry like that?0

When searching and it pulls up, on the computer you're able to click on nutritional value. Then you can click on edit from there. I've not tried it on the app yet.

I create my own entry and make it unavailable to the general public. At least, there used to be an option for that. Not sure if it's still there.0

Did you calculate these figures out longhand or base it on their figures0
