Without know what you are eating it is hard to offer advice, but upping protein and fiber rich foods will probably help you feel full longer. Don't totally eliminate lots of things at once. Learn to eat moderate portions and eat well most of the time (80%). The other 20% can be more treat type stuff. By allowing yourself…

I am 48 and it has taken me more than 2 years to lose seventy odd pounds. It comes off SLOWLY! As others have said, weigh and measure all your food. Log accurately every time you eat (or write it down and do all your logging at one time) but get all your food logged. Be patient - it may take a while for what you are doing…

I do some of this and also use the bottom step of the stairs to do step ups. If you do them quickly, you can get your heart rate up pretty good in a short time frame.

While there are plenty of bells and whistles with the site, it really isn't all that much fancy stuff. Basically it is eating at a reasonable deficit and moving more. Which if you have lost that amount, even if it is the same 20 pounds over and over, you already know. Accurate and consistent logging of both food and…

Are her privacy settings blocking everyone from finding her? I would check those on her account.

The main way I have found is to not consider it a diet. That implies an ending point to your eating plan and then you will probably gain back everything you lost (plus some if it works for you like it has for me in the past). Instead, view it as a lifestyle change that will last your lifetime. Make small changes, giving…

Hi Mimi, I have about 70 pounds yet to lose. I am always on the lookout for more friends. I agree that the friends on MFP are AWESOME! I could not have done what I have so far without them. I am sending you a friend request.

Usually raisins and either pecans (preferred) or walnuts. Sometimes I also add vanilla whey protein.
-
I weigh myself daily and record that in an excel file so I can see the fluctuations as well as the general trend. I only record my weight once a week in MFP, always the same day, keeping the variables as constant as I can.

You are right. Having friends who are dealing with similar things and want to accomplish the same thing - getting healthier - makes all the difference in the world. I get a lot of "lip service" support in my family but the support and encouragement from my MFP family is just awesome. I am sending you a FR.

My youngest is also 21. Sending you a FR.

Yep! The gym was closed today for me too but I just finished an hour here at home.

I will generally try to ignore it by doing some craft work, reading, games on the computer, etc. If that doesn't work, I give in and have some of what I was craving. If it is a sweet, I have a bag of pre-portioned treats and will have one of them. If it is popcorn though I am in trouble cuz that means lots of calories…

I generally log right after I eat a meal or a snack. If I see that I am going to be a bit light I will figure out what to have as snacks. Those I usually log before I eat them. I do write down what I eat in a paper & pen journal so if I am somewhere without internet access I can add it in later.

I have seen people in wheelchairs use resistance bands to exercise. I see no reason why you couldn't make up a workout of seated leg raises, "marching" while seated, lifting dumbells or soup cans from a seated position, some stretching, etc. Eventually maybe you could progress to higher resistance bands, heavier dumbells,…

I am stuffed with about 1400 calories eaten so far today. I did some exercise earlier to give me a little extra leeway. I may have a second piece of pie yet before bed.
-
I weigh every day and record that weight in an excel worksheet that lets me see, in a graph, how I am doing over the long run. I only record my weight on MFP once a week.

Sometimes when the scale stalls you can use other things to measure your progress. The most obvious one is your measurements but you can also use the way your clothes fit, differences in pictures (before and afters), and increases in your fitness levels (can do more than before or do new things that you couldn't do…

Don't give up and quit!!!! Even if the scale says you are not currently being successful, you CAN succeed! Just ignore the last few days and get the mindset that you are going to make changes, permanent changes, in the way you approach food. Then each meal or snack time decide if what you are about to eat works for your…

I am also a pre-diabetic. I have been using MFP now for a bit over a year and my endocrinologist is very happy with my numbers. I also have about 90 pounds to lose, I am sending you a friend request. Support from friends is what makes this site so great.
-
No need to feel alone. There are tons of people on here who are willing to be friends with you and offer support. I am sending you a friend request.

I would love to lose 15 pounds by Christmas but would be happy with a 9 pound loss.

Read, tv, cross stitch, tutoring neighbor kids, normal household chores, etc. The cross stitch and tutoring are really good because I can't snack while doing them.
