  • Technically this is a scale victory, but I'm calling it an NSV. I went on a week long road trip, ate my way through NYC, lots of fast food. But I managed to LOSE 1.5 pounds on vacation! Also while on vacation, I fit into a pair of shorts that wouldn't button last summer!
  • Had my annual physical this week. I've dropped my overall cholesterol by 20 points and my LDL (bad) cholesterol by 70 points. Last year I was just over the metrics for high cholesterol. I asked my doctor to give me a year before we tried meds. I crushed my goal.
  • @AnnPT77 - that's kind of my thoughts with it. The days I'm going over my MFP set calorie goals are days I'm grabbing dinner or drinks with friends or family. I've attempted weight loss several times and had good success when younger. I've had some non weight related health things come to which sadly have made losing the…
  • I wore a romper today I haven't worn in a year. I wasn't the biggest fan of how round I looked last time I wore it so its been hiding in the back of my closet. Today it fits great & I can tell a difference. I went from feeling frumpy in this to feeling super cute.
  • Is there a way to do this on MFP without Premium? Or even with Premium? I'm considering switching to premium for a few different reasons. This would definitely be a huge factor.
  • @AnnPT77 thank you so much!!
  • This is what I ordered & use. It's like a walking motion but much higher resistance. And yes, I put in for the stair climber & was like "there's no way I burned 200 calories in 15 minutes" :D I don't follow any of the weight loss advice on tiktok, I just thought it looked like an easy way to work out at home & doesn't take…
  • Day 1 (1/4) - 308 Day 7 (1/10) - 302.7 I don't believe today's weigh in. I ate very light yesterday & only had about 1200 calories. That's super low for me. I had a diagnostic mammogram & ultrasound (my first time) so was feeling very "in my feels". I just wanted to be at home in my PJs with my blanket. Plus it was wet &…
  • Day 1 (1/4) - 308 Day 2 (1/5) - totally overslept & forgot to weigh! Day 3 (1/6) - weekends don't count Day 4 (1/7) - Day 5 (1/8) - 306.5 Day 6 (1/9) - 306.7 Day 7 (1/10) - 302.7 I don't believe today's weigh in. • Yep!! I don't know exactly how much I want to lose, but I know it'll be pretty close, if not more than, 100 pounds. I'm currently 308 & want to get to a size 12 & maintainable weight for me. My PCP agreed I'll never be within my healthy weight range based on BMI charts; that is not maintainable for my frame. But I know the…
  • Day 1 (1/4) - 308 (starting weight) Day 5 (1/8) - 306.5 (official WI will be Thursday) January Goal - 300 Overall Goal - 190ish (or a size 12, I'd be happy there) I went to brunch on Saturday with some girlfriends & still managed to have a cocktail & stay pretty close to my calorie goals for the day. I'm pretty pumped…

I'm pretty pumped about that. I got some…
  • Day 1 (1/4) - 308 Day 2 (1/5) - totally overslept & forgot to weigh! My priority this morning was making sure I packed my lunch. Small victories. :) I keep my scale in the kitchen, so hopefully that will help me to remember to weigh more often & track my trends better.
  • I ate it before I saw this post. But dinner was sheet pan chicken fajitas. Super easy and good.
  • I don't know how to add people but feel free to request me & I'll accept!
  • Good morning! I'm Jordan, 37yo cat mom. I have a primarily desk job. Located in Central VA. I hope its not too late to join you guys. Today is my day one. I had a steroid epidural scheduled for January 2nd & yesterday was a lazy day after that. Of course I woke up today congested with what feels like the start of a sinus…
  • Good morning! I hope its not too late to join you guys. Today is my day one. I had a steroid epidural scheduled for January 2nd & yesterday was a lazy day after that. Of course I woke up today congested with what feels like the start of a sinus infection, but I'm not going to let that slow me down. I went grocery shopping…
  • Hey! I've been doing some research on keto/low carb over the past couple of weeks. Starting slowly with just lowering carbs & making better choices. So far down about 5 pounds in 2 weeks. Working myself up to going more keto/even lower carbs. Would love to have some others to share ideas & foods with.
  • Happy May everyone! Monday's WI was what I expected, even though disappointing. No movement on the scale. But, that's usually how my body does things. A big week at first & then nothing. I also know I ate a little more over the weekend than I should have. I'm not upset with it. @nsk1951 those lettuce wraps are so easy! I…
  • @Melwillbehealthy - Congrats on cutting back on the meds! Your reason sounds a lot like mine. I'm starting with a new doctor in July & my old doctor was extremely pill happy. She would throw a pill at everything & that's not how I want to be, especially with the side effects. So I stopped seeing her. But I know what new…
  • Morning y'all! I forgot to check in on Monday. So excited for my loss. April 3: April 10: April 17: 305 (start) April 24: 299.8 April Goal: 302 April Actual: 299.8 April Loss: -5.2 I know my body & my first week is always a good loss. The 2nd week will slow down, sometimes even a small gain. Then things level out. For May…
  • Happy Monday y'all! I made it all weekend with no alcohol. Actually only drank on Wednesday & Thursday last week. Wednesdays are my normal night out with friends. Thursday I hung out with another friend. Tonight, may be a different story. I foresee a couple drinks. I know I should find a different way to cope. But I walked…
  • @nsk1951 - I agree on not wanting to fall in to the newest trends but also finding what works for you. It can definitely be difficult to do. And with social media and diet culture everywhere it makes it even harder. We see so much of the fast fad diets that "work quick" when in reality, they may work fast but are they…
  • @JNettie73 - thank you for the welcome! Its helpful to find people on the same journey. The past few days I've strayed a little, but made sure to track everything & I'm not upset over the choices I've made. I could have done without some of the bar food or late night snacking, but its all accounted for and I didn't go over…
  • Good morning y'all! Went out last night & had a few drinks. Woke up this morning with a headache. Not a hangover, it was gone quickly. But just a lack of sleep, out too late, kind of headache. I don't miss those at all. I'm hanging out with a friend of mine tonight. We went a little hard with drinking last time & both…
  • Hey you - yeah, I enjoy all our time together. But secretly, I have a massive crush on you & I'm too chicken to say anything. Even though I know you never will either even if you feel the same. So, can we continue to secretly harbor feelings for each other & hang out like we already do? K. Thnx.
  • Hello everyone! I just started back up yesterday, doing a lazy "keto". I hate that term. I'm just focusing on staying within my calories but also watching my sugar & carb intake. Those can be binge triggers for me, so best to just stay away. Ultimately I would like to lose a little over 100 pounds, but realistically and…
  • This is one of my goals for taking better care of myself. For me, this means cutting back to 2-3 times per week. I know for some that is still excessive. My friend group tends to revolve around hanging out at the bars. Its where we all met, the bar is basically like Cheers - we can just show up and know someone will be…
  • I think this is going to be a trial & error between you & your doctor. What works for one person is not going to work for others. But ultimately, getting some weight off will help greatly. My doctor highly recommended a modified keto diet for me to try so I'm giving it a shot. If this doesn't work, I'll try something else.
  • I'll make extra & freeze some. Casseroles and soups/stews are great for this. I also try to find recipes that use the same ingredients so I can prep once but use multiple times. Do you have time to do one or two days of prep/cooking a week?
