I've been eating properly (mostly healthy) for the last ten days or so for the first time in years and I am finding that I'm less hungry. Probably because I'm eating a lot of fruit and vegetables and trying to squeeze in fat and protein.
My weight has been up and down which is fine, I'm not obsessing over it, I am learning to trust the process, if I hit my calorie target every day or at least most days, I will lose weight.
I got ghosted on a date today and felt like hitting the drive through, but instead of enjoying some kfc, I made a fruit salad, then found I couldn't eat it all because my stomach was full. It was awful, but I didn't turn to emotional eating. Hopefully I will feel better tomorrow!
I also tried on an old belt that I passed on to someone and found it was too big, even though I gained three or four kg. I did lose some of that weight though and haven't been as bloated as usual. Honestly, I look pregnant half the time.18 -
While I was walking down the street a neighbour and his wife pulled over to marvel at how much weight I had lost! We don't see each other too often and so to them.....it looked like I dropped the weight overnight.
They were SO complimentary.......LOL i guess I was "fat". I did go from Obese to Marginally Overweight. I'm about 6 pounds from Normal the last time I checked.........17 -
I should call motivation Elvis, because he has left the building.
But y’know what?
I’m gonna log my calories, keeping it close to my daily goal, and then go get on my NuStep and do some cardio for 45 minutes to an hour.
If Elvis shows up, I might go to 90 minutes just to show him he’s not as important as everyone thinks he is.
That’s a NSV14 -

I did 90 minutes.
7 miles on my recumbent elliptical.
According to my Apple Watch I burned 881 calories.
Take that, Elvis!

I overate, and I tracked most of it15

I upgraded my dumbbells from 5 pounds to 10 pounds 🙌 doesn’t seem like much but shows progress in my strength workouts.15

My A1c is at 5.3%. 😁 It was 6 last time it was checked.21

This morning, I weighed the most I have in 3 years. That’s not a NSV, of course.
What is: I stuck to my plan to enjoy a morning outing that involved one son, 2 dogs, a forest, fresh air, and a lot of aerobic exercise. I’m logging today and making a plan to do better starting today.18 -
All last week was so good for jogging !
Since I posted my last NSV, I reached the bridge without walking EVERY DAY !!
The way back is not as glorious though But some days were very good and I could run back a good portion of it !12 -
Yesterdays jog started as a slog, and it was not the most pleasant!
However, I really settled into it around the middle and over shot my 5mins at the end. 5mins where I almost didn’t notice I was running! Crazy!12 -
I bought some yoga crop tops to wear to swim in. They’re cheaper, wash up better, fit better, less “bounce”, and are waaaay more comfortable to swim and do aquafit in than bathing suit tops.
Today I had five minutes to get from cardio to the lap lane I reserved, so I just wore a crop top to the cardio class so all I had to do was change bottoms.
I’ve been in cringe territory wearing a crop anywhere except yoga class, but I marched into the gym and owned it this morning.
Don’t know if I can wear it one into the weight room, though. I often go from personal trainer straight into the water. It sure would be more convenient. *sigh* but I feel even more exposed in the weight room.
It is fricking hard to change sweaty athletic tops. Ya just get tangled up like a straitjacket. I’m going to invent a screw in wall hook ladies can back up to to pull their workout or swimwear top down in back.15 -
Feeling like a bad a** B after my workout with my new 10lb dumbbells .. wooo! squat curls really get me sweatin’..
here’s to getting stronger.. 🙌16 -
I bought a dress today just because I loved it. It's a size S. I'm not a size S I never would have done this in the past because I always figured I was never going to get that small, but now I am certain that I will, so why not18

Hahahaha!! I did that! I hung mine sideways in the closet so I had to move it to get dressed. And I talked to it every morning!14 -
I went swimming for first time since losing over 200 lbs. I sink if I dont work hard to stay afloat! I can sit on the bottom of the pool. How cool it was!21
-
@Baritastic That is awesome! I had a mental image of you changing changing from a bobbing cork into a bathtub plug 🤣 Seriously though, way to go.4

2 NSVs today.
My yoga studio carries a small selection of Lulu, and just stocked a great pair of pink rainbow leggings.
One of younger instructors is crazy slim and fit. She was working the front desk.
I pulled my (new) usual size off the hanger and told her to put them on my tab after I got out from class.
She asked if I’d mind if she tried them on as the only other pair that size were on the mannequin. “Sure”, sez I, silently thinking “they will swim on you, hon. You’re no bigger than a minute.”
Since they were pale, I told her to give me the bend over test before I bought ‘em, so she came out, and modeled them for me. They fit her perfect. I had paid and was out the door before it hit me. Jesus, I’m the same size as that girl?!
NSV #2 I woke up with a considerable amount of joint pain this morning. Even slept in, which I never do, because everything hurt so bad I didn’t even want to get out of bed.
My Wednesday noon yoga class is the hardest thing I do all week. It’s very physical, with lots of unusual flow, very deep and long holds, and challenging arm balances. My wrists in particular have been killing me lately so yoga has not been a pleasure.
I was about fifteen minutes in to class when I realized I felt wonderful. No wrist pain, relishing the long holds. It just felt delicious. Best yoga class I’ve had in months.
I’m so glad I made myself get out of bed and get moving, so that the kinks were worked out before I went.
I am so *kitten* glad I made the decision to get off my *kitten* at 56 and do something about my fat *kitten*. Ya’ll, it is truly never too late.

Here's my silly NSV:
I was garage-saleing with my daughter and spied a bag of 1920's style stuff. In the bag were two sparkly flapper dresses, hair accessories, elbow length gloves, and some jewellery. Obviously two friends had decked themselves out for a 1920's themed event. My first thought was "How fun is that!!" and I bought the bag. Because you just never know when I might need to get dressed up like a flapper *eye roll*. The NSV is that old me would never have wanted to draw attention to myself in any way by dressing up in something fun like that. Not a chance!
The second NSV is that when I tried the dresses on at home they were both too big! No worries though....in the past I have attended a cross country ski fund raiser where people get dressed up and ski some trails. My costumes have usually involved something like a big puffy snowman or a clown. The dress is actually big enough that I can wear a couple of layers of merino underneath and should be able to ski quite comfortably. Now the big question: Can I convince my husband to ski in the second dress.........? 😆20 -

Not just inspiring. WILDLY inspiring!10 -
I used to always take the elevator whenever possible. I now usually prefer to take the stairs.20

I bought myself a promise ring after my divorce. (The promise was not to be an idiot ever again.) Sadly, it only fit on my pinkie finger. I did not predict that my weight gain meant I'd gone up a ring size. Today, I went to put it on before going out with a friend, and it was too loose on my pinkie finger. It's on my ring finger now. Yay! Burning the fat off these sausage fingers!24

I wore a romper today I haven't worn in a year. I wasn't the biggest fan of how round I looked last time I wore it so its been hiding in the back of my closet. Today it fits great & I can tell a difference. I went from feeling frumpy in this to feeling super cute.13

My nails are growing again. Nice and strong with white tips and half moons… since my nails are showing progress maybe that means my hair is next to reap the benefits.. 👍 the scale isn’t cooperating at all this summer but NSV’s for the win 🤪💪16

Nipped into a local charity shop to get some cheap lace for a craft project, and had a quick browse… found two nice denim skirts in a size 10 so tried them on right there in the middle of the store over my shorts - too big!14
-
Found out today that I can do a pull up. I haven't been close to being able to since I was a kid.14
-
I can fit in my kilt again. :-)
28 -
Just seeing scale movement down instead of up!10
-
I actually managed to keep my carbs under 💯 today!! Wahooozie!! 🎉15

It's great to hear that you're feeling more confident and positive about yourself.
Seeing those dimples again must have been such a wonderful moment.4
