  • Restarting keto after going off the wagon for a while. I'd love new friends. And I know what you mean about being hungry: keto eating makes me ravenous, but for good fatty foods! Sending you a request.
  • I know what you mean about those blank looks, and then come the arguments. Ugh. I just restarted (from low-ish carb) and most of my friends are not (or no longer) keto, so could use more keto friends too. I log daily, diary open, and know what works for me. Still futzing with my macros, but... Add me if you like!
  • Oh, and add me as a friend if you want!
  • Hi there. I've been on and off keto, and now back on with a vengeance. I found when I first started up that I just craved fat and was really hungry. I ate more than I usually do, but with more fats (salads with fatty dressing, bacon and eggs, tuna with lots of mayo). I do make fat bombs, with stevia and/or xylitol, but if…
  • Same as sweetteadrinker2, I just don't eat as much. Lately I've been having blackberries and strawberries with cream and keto-friendly granola made with nuts, coconut oil, butter, sweetener, (for me Ideal xylitol), coconut, and I added a little Trader Joe's flax and chia peanut butter--yum. You can also make some fat…
  • Salsa Verde (I swear it's been the same for 20 years!), coffee, frozen Mahi Mahi, Dark Chocolate Laceys, some wines, sprouted grain breads, Kalamata olive oil, raw nuts for baking, Pound Plus dark chocolate bar (Belgian chocolate) for baking, Kerrygold butter and Applegate meats.
  • What a difference in 4 months! Way to go!
  • Um, yum! This looks and sounds sooo good, and anything using a slow cooker I'm behind. Thanks!
  • I love my slow cooker in the summer: no hot stove! I like to throw in some chicken breasts, green salsa from Trader Joe's, or a can or two of green chiles, cilantro, cumin, chile powder, maybe garlic, sometimes black beans, usually without. Then cook low 6-8 hours, shred and eat over rice or in tacos. Or just eat with…
  • At last! I suspect many seekers of "miracle" pills or elixirs will dismiss this as a witch hunt by "big medicine," but it's a great start. I love the MFP community for keeping it real. :)
  • I just try not to dress like the students I teach. So, self-prescribed dress code is no short shorts or tights as pants (whatever those things are called: they look like tights to me). Maybe if I did wear those it'd up my hotness quotient on ratemyprofessor, though. No, probably not. :)
  • Vandals, Urban Struggle.
  • That I was a real hard(ish) core punk in the 1980s in California, slamming and screaming my lungs out to Ramones and X and others, every Friday night. I'm still a punk (in my heart!), but now I look more like a schoolteacher.
  • I'm in! I so need this. Hoping for the latest snow to melt so I can get outside, but till then, treadmill. (Tracked on fitbit, two pretty lame days) March 1: 1.2 miles March 2: 2.4 miles.
  • Rubio's. Sniff. It's so far away. Our local hotdog place, O'Betty's, is great. Not fast food, but fast, cheap, a tiny space with a hotdog museum and dogs named for burlesque queens! Great fries. Great dogs. Chipotle's my favorite on-the-road food.
  • I just made this last night for my mac-and-cheese loving mate, had it with grilled steak and mushrooms. Yum! I added crisp, crumbled bacon on top. :) From Keto Kitchen. 1 large head of Cauliflower Vegetable Oil Spray 1 Cup Heavy Cream 2 oz Cream Cheese, cut into small pieces 1 1/2 tsp Dry Mustard 1 1/2 Cups Sharp Cheddar,…
  • I just recommitted myself to doing strict keto as it worked for me before. I'm 52, my diary is open, and it's pretty varied as I'm a total foodie and love to cook. Feel free to add me.
  • I'm so stalled that I'm trying the "Carb Nite" program just to see what happens. You stick to vlc for 10 days, and the evening of the 10th you carb up. Then another week following keto, then another carb night. I haven't had my first carb night yet, so can't tell how it will go. It's somewhat more complicated than that,…
  • I got Fitbit Ones for myself and my husband for Christmas and he already lost his! He was wearing it at the time, at least, but I think I should have gone for the Force or the Flex for him, since they'd be harder to lose track of. I'm enjoying mine, though. I was sick of using a pedometer app that would reset itself in the…
  • Her recipes are great. I'm thinking of making the onion rings for lunch today. Yum.
  • I made a spaghetti squash gratin last week, and it was really good. I'm not doing low fat, though, so you might want to tweak it for your own needs. Cook the squash (I did it cut side down in a little water in the microwave, but I usually do it in the oven), till tender, use a fork to remove the strands, caramelize some…
  • I have the DVD. I haven't done it in a while (year or two), but I remember it being pretty difficult at first to get fully into some of the stretches, and that it would feel really good after. And like sadfaerie I felt myself getting more flexible. Unfortunately, I don't think it made me 10 years younger. (;
  • I'd love some keto friends. I've been doing it for about 3 months, having slow (I'm not perfect) but steady success, including from the fat fast I just got off of. Please feel free to add me!
  • They are pretty yummy!
  • I'll have to try to find the Applegate ones (love their ethic) next time I go to the big city!
  • Same here. I'm usually closer to 5% net carbs, but don't worry if I'm not. So far it's working for me.
  • I've learned volumes from this group, I've been losing consistently, and I feel good. I hardly bother to go to other forums anymore, other than success stories.
  • Rats. I just scoured the freezer case for these and only found really high carb varieties of Red Baron. Most were individual pan or deep dish, but still, I do wonder if they messed up the numbers. Every pizza box I picked up had about 40-50 carbs and only a couple of grams of fiber per serving. I'll probably just wait till…
  • Interesting. I wonder how they manage it. I might try just to see what happens. Thanks!
  • This. I was stalled, dropped my carbs (pretty much all from vegetables now, no sugar, very little sugar sub), increased my cals, fat and protein, and started losing again. I walk, jog a little, lift weights, sometimes do 30 Day Shred, but I don't work out as much as I was during stall. I'm 3 months post-menopause.
