  • When you start out, especially if you make drastic changes, you will lose more. It should balance out at 1-2 pounds, if not, have a look at your in vs. out to make sure you are not undereating, which could cause a lot of problems (one of them being that the changes are not sustainable and you give up).
  • So heating blueberries adds calories? How? Does the microwave add sugar? I think it might just be a matter of "concentrating" the calories rather than adding any. Experiment A: So if you take 100 gr of raw berries, microwave them and weigh them again - do they now weigh less? Do they contain the same amount of sugar? Does…
  • What you describe there is not a waist training corset, hence the confusion. I don't know anything about the thing you are describing but it sounds very much like a pointless scam to me - sweating more only loses you water that you have to top up, if you don't want to risk health problems eventually. Eat right (at a…
  • OK, A. why are you considering waist training? B. This: C. NO: I am confused as to why you are asking a corset question in a weight loss/fitness forum. Corsets neither make you fit nor lose weight - they change your shape to some extend. As long as you know that, I would refer you back to answer B. (and whatever you do, C.…
  • I would definitely suggest starting to weigh your food and consider the accuracy of the calories in vs. out. If all of the individual numbers are just a little bit out and you are aiming for a small deficit, this might be enough to keep you at maintenance rather than loss.
  • My thoughts exactly.
  • She probably went on to eat all the Oreos and decided not to try and lose weight after all. I personally blame the churros pic.
  • They are the food of the devil and must therefore be destroyed ... by eating all of them ... no, seriously, they are highly addictive, so if you can manage to just have a couple, that's absolutely fine ... I wouldn't be able to stop myself after two, I would need to eat the whole box! :-)
  • You look amazing! Well done, you! You'll manage maintenance no problem, just keep on doing what you are doing! :D
  • Good old fashioned calorie counting is what does it for me, so welcome and good luck! :-) I was 200 g away from goal and let things slip, so I am back on reduced cals now to get rid of what I put back on, and so far so good!
  • Well, it tells me that I am at ideal weight (which I kinda am), so no surprise there. What did throw me though, is the "frame size" and how to establish that. My fingers overlap when I put them around my wrist, but I am by no means what would be considered a "small frame". So I guess this is, just like many others of these…
  • I wouldn't eat a chicken that's that old.
  • You make it sound like it's a bad thing? There are that many variables in there that this can never be a 100% accurate calculation turned reality. Every single calorie you log (or don't) is estimated - eaten and burnt. Your TDEE is estimated. You say it yourself in your post: "I burn around 3000kcal a week", "So ~1600 kcal…
  • On that note: trying this one tonight: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/chana-masala-spinach
  • Nothing wrong with any of the foods you listed :-) (well, maybe the hot chocolate with measure, but there are ways) ... curry is so quick and easy to make yourself so it doesn't have to break the calorie bank, chicken noodle soup with ginger and chilli is my favourite comfort food, really filling and veery affordable in…
  • She is a total f***wit who should not be given any attention. Would rather chop my arm off than watch/read anything about her.
  • They don't give any calorie figures on their menu, so it is hard to pick. There are a number of options you might have: a. exercise to offset a higher calorie meal and have what you fancy b. they have a nice selection of salads that on the face of it don't look like they would break the bank (watch for dressings tho, they…
  • Btw, I am getting married this year too, so I know what it feels like. And maybe consider this, although there is only so much weight you can lose in 3 months, you can lose more inches/cm with strength training ... toning up doesn't lose you pounds but it does make the body tighter and therefore give you a smaller…
  • My advice would be to only start a specific diet programme if it is something you would consider carrying on for the rest of your life. The term "diet" is commonly used by people to describe a temporary period of time where they eat differently in order to lose weight. I would think of the term "diet" as the way I eat -…
  • Difficult to tell as you don't say why you are here - fitness, weight loss/gain? But here are my lessons learnt from my time here: Weigh and log everything you eat/drink. Everything. (OK, maybe not the tap water, but it ist still useful to track how much of that you drink - if you do - to make sure you stay hydrated ;-))…
  • I love that! One reason I overeat is boredom, so keeping busy is definitely the way forward! Think I might give it a try too! :-)
  • I think cold turkey is definitely a good idea. It is low in fat, high in protein and can be used in a huge variety of meals, think sandwiches, wraps, salads, soups, to name just a few. And before you know it, your cravings for beef will cease :-) P.S. For more variation, you could try hot Turkey too - I heard it's lovely…
  • It's like saying "if you spend right, you never run into debt" - well, some people need a budget to help them manage and household with their money, me for example. If I don't track what I spend (money and calorie wise), it is easy for me to go over, as I happily give in to temptation. So where some people naturally eat…
  • Will send friend for nipple pictures
  • Best feeling ever!! Followed by utter sadness about having thrown away a gorgeous pair of jeans that haven't fit for about 10 years and would be sooo nice to wear now! :-) Well done you!
  • The clue is in the link - this is posted in the Daily Mail. Entirely written to wind people up. Story ends there.
  • I found that my size varies a lot, depending on the different brands. This: http://sizes.darkgreener.com/ is a useful tool to see the various "vanity sizings" that are happening at different brands.
