I have a friend who is of the opinion that most female fans of the books will run screaming if you bring a rope or a riding crop anywhere near them lol

3 of the worst books I've ever read. What a stupid story! No way would I want to be that controlled by someone, regardless of how much of a demon in the sack he is.
Some of my friends loved it. Thought Grey was the man. Maybe we'll do a girls night out and watch the movie.

I hated the book. The guy was creepy. There are few to no books I don't finish, that was one.

All Right. Who wants to be stalked and dominated? I just ordered a Riding Crop from Amazon.

if any film should be boycotted by the general public at all it should be this... the only reason it is being made at all is for money, not because it is a worthwhile story to tell

seriously if this is what people think a loving dom/sub relationship is then they are sorely mistaken

That pretty much sums it up.

Totally overrated book, and completely missing the point of the lifestyle. But that's just my opinion. :)

Isn't that more or less a rehash of 9 1/2 weeks?

It's fiction. I mean is it that serious. See it or don't. Not everyone has the same interests in movies or literature. As for the accuracy ummm again, its fiction.

I think I may possibly be the only female not to have read it!

Might go and see the film though.....?!

Nope. I am, also, not interested in reading it.

I read the first book, meh. Barely made it through the 2nd book and haven't finished the 3rd. This movie comes out on my anniversary with my boyfriend. He asked if I wanted to go see it. I told him I rather exfoliate with a veggie peeler and then soak in a lemon juice salt water bath. He was happy that he wasn't going to be dragged to see it and even happier when I suggested we stay home and watch Predator. Nothin says lovin' like a dread locked alien brutally killing people. GET TO THE CHOPPA.

It should also be said that the book(s) should have a warning on the cover, "Caution: May induce frequent eye-rolling heightening your risk of getting your face stuck like that." post-29851-Judy-Judy-rolling-eyes-gif-Img-lwMP.gif

I couldn't bring myself to read them. A friend insisted I do and gave me a copy, but they are sooooo terribly written that I couldn't even force myself through them. Even fiction needs some believability. So bad it was comical.

I will be passing on the movie. The guy casted looks like he's 17. Gross.

It's not bad overall, I mean, the book was okay, interesting anyway, but I'll tell ya my imagination did not look anything like the 2 lead actors, that's for sure. They could've done better, no offense, especially the guy.

Read the book cause thats what suburban housewives do - was bored and also annoyed by the glorification of an abusive relationship. By no means am I feminist - but I would not want any of my daughters in a relationship like that.

I had actually met a woman (re: girl) who was so obsessed with the books, she was looking for a man just like Grey. No other man is man enough for her. She also denied that it was abusive, and believed that's what love is really like.

This is why the book should be banned.
