Hated that book! Seriously, the guy was creepy. And a stalker. And she whines too much.0
-
I think I may possibly be the only female not to have read it!
Might go and see the film though.....?!0 -
id rather watch porn - better storylines0
-
There are way better books out there if that's your bent. Heck, Anne Rice did a decent series of erotica that actually read like it was written by a very naughty 12yo.0
-
yum..... yum.... there should be more naughty people in the world.0

Agreed. Heshe's so unstable and creepy...
Also the fact it was witten originally as Fanfiction of Twilight then modified ruined annnyyyyy chance of me liking it!0 -

I am now filled with dread at the prospect of seeing this film.... My wife is nagging me to take her. Think I will drop a barbel on my foot that day...A&E seams like a better prospect lol

terrible books
terribly written
by a terribly un-informed person
that describes an incredibly abusive (and i mean really abusive) relationship by a manipulative man and a gullible woman
the film (as i doubt they will do the follow ups but who knows in this day and age) will be a watered down version of the books and be marketed as soft porn titilation that people will go see purely for the voyeurism of the whole thing
if any film should be boycotted by the general public at all it should be this... the only reason it is being made at all is for money, not because it is a worthwhile story to tell
seriously if this is what people think a loving dom/sub relationship is then they are sorely mistaken

do some research as to why these books and the description of the relationship grey has with her is very very bad not just badly written and show that it is actually doing harm to women in general, is actually setting womens rights back many years and then explain that giving people money for the privilege of being show abuse of the worse kind to a woman is a very bad thing and then see if its still something your wife wants to go and see...
if all else fails the barbel seems like a reasonable option

apologies to the OP for the potential "ganging up" on her set of posts, you are free to watch what you want, and be excited about what you want.... but i do think you could do with doing some research into why the descriptions in the book are so outrageously off base and end up being someones imagination of a dom/sub relationship and not the actual truth about these things - they tend to be very healthy and very loving relationships with alot of trust and no abuse - and make an informed decision about whether you are going to pay to see a man basically mentally and physically abuse a woman in the name of a little bit of titilation... i would have thought that the majority of women would have been quite upset about the way in which she is treated.... there is plenty of very good erotica out there about this subject that does not contain the mental and physical abuse... i would suggest finding some of that and see the difference....... but again this is just a suggestion and i don't in anyway want to stop you from enjoying something if it is what you want to enjoy0

Well put and agreed! ^0

I have a friend who is of the opinion that most female fans of the books will run screaming if you bring a rope or a riding crop anywhere near them lol0

3 of the worst books I've ever read. What a stupid story! No way would I want to be that controlled by someone, regardless of how much of a demon in the sack he is.
Some of my friends loved it. Thought Grey was the man. Maybe we'll do a girls night out and watch the movie.0 -

All Right. Who wants to be stalked and dominated? I just ordered a Riding Crop from Amazon.0

Totally overrated book, and completely missing the point of the lifestyle. But that's just my opinion.0
