If I wasn't at work for 6 hours today I would be crafting! :)

My parents were great role models for healthy eating. Salad with every meal, eating out and getting treats like ice cream was rare and usually for special occasions, not a lot of junk food around. BUT I did grow up with my mom always making comments about how she had to drop a few pounds and always trying to lose weight,…

I was showing my boyfriend this cowl neck shirt I got from the Gap (30% off everything in the store right now, fyi!) and he said "why is the neck so stretched out? Did you buy it like that???" And then I put it on and he said it was cute, so all was forgiven:blushing:

I'll second the trouble sleeping part, but that's usually also on days when I have coffee or coke too
-
hahahaha RIGHT?!?!

sounds HARD (ik, ik this isn't supposed to be EASY) and like you'd be setting yourself up for failure. At 900 cals I know I would be tired, grumpy, and sick most of the time. Heck, thats what I'm like at 1200. And you wouldn't be able to do fun workouts!

That's about a pound a week! Which I think is a great rate to lose weight at. Seems like you're doing a great job. Keep eating fruits, veggies, whole grains, stay away from the junk (reasonably) and keep active. Just be patient! You're doing great!!

just search "walking" in the database and it'll give you a bunch of different speeds which you can figure out from the speed you set you treadmill to
-
yeah! up the cals by a few hundred. Seems counter productive, I know. But the energys gotta come from somewhere!
-
apple crisp?? It's not the healthiest, but its easy and yummy and great to share with friends!

I live in a fairly urban area but I avoid the busy streets because I hate being stopped at stop lights. Messes up my flow, man! There's a great park close to me that I run through a lot or I just stick to the quietest streets possible. Now that its getting dark earlier I don't particularly like the idea of running through…

pretty kitty!

Yep! that casserole is soooo good!

The Moosewood Cookbook by Mollie Katzen. It doesn't reeaaallly fit the qualities you listed, but the delicious and beyond healthy recipes in there make up for it. I'll make something from it on the weekends and eat it all week. Otherwise, the foodgawker suggestion is great too! I love that site.

I'm not an expert at all, but sounds like you might have a little bit of plantar fasciitis. It bothers me at times too. They sell special things that you can roll your foot out on (this is the one I have. I really like it:…

bump, i have the exact same problem. And its always on weird things too. whatever I can get my hands on

Yay! welcome! to both the state and the site :) I think you'll find both quite great! Feel free to add!
-
cool! this is such a neat idea. I don't eat meat so I think I'd put some defrosted frozen spinach and mushrooms in there instead of the sausage. Have you ever frozen them?

hahahha! "put down that block of cheese" STORY OF MY LIIIIFE.

I'm in a pretty similar situation as you. I won't see the scale move for weeks and then I'll drop a pound or two. Just be patient! I'm sure you're doing everything right. Maybe bump up your cals by 100 or so? Sometimes that helps me

yeah! I'm in Madison and I always run into this problem (pardon the pun  ). But yak tracks seem like a great idea. As for the tight lungs, I definitely get that. I try and have something around my neck and warm stuff around my core mostly. Once I'm done and get inside I try and take a hot shower and drink some hot…

oh my gosh, awesome! thanks for sharing!!

I love that dvd! Maybe this will help: I use my heart rate monitor when I do it and usually burn 500-600 calories doing the entire video

I would agree with others who are wondering whether or not you WANT to drink. If you want to drink, because you enjoy it, then you by all means should. Get a little workout in earlier in the day and stick with a drink or two and you'll be golden. I personally love to drink as a social activity with my friends and its not…

Its those gosh darn magazines. I swear. Make me doubt myself and my body everyday

dont doo it! look at a picture of someone who has your goal body!! Go do it! now!

word. That last one sounds amazing

Maybe it doesn't matter for YOUR health (although there is that little fact I always seen thrown around about vegetarians weighing less on average), but it sure as heck matters for the planets health. Sorry for throwing my little environmental view point into your thread. There's just a lot more positives that come out of…

Hey there, in a very similar situation as you! What you described is very similar to what I consume. I don't eat meat, and spend the money I save there on fresh fruits and veggies. I go to my local farmers market during the warmer months and I feel like I get great deals there, as long as you are buying in season. Things…

awesome!! good luck on your journey! Feel free to add me if you are looking for friends. I'm in my 20s as well and definitely have the drinking and partying challenge to overcome at times
