I have the Polar E40. I really love it but it was a tad pricey- about $120 for the watch and strap. Easy to use, waterproof, and doesn't pick up interference from other HR monitors that may be close. The target zone is also programmable.

Looks awesome! Loving the blue :)

Love my Polar E40!

I typically judge it based on what my body tells me. If I work out and feel like I'm STARVING- I'll eat back some of the calories. If I feel fine and my energy level is good then I don't eat. I almost always eat back at least some, though. :-)

This all the way. Makes you think twice about how much you really want something.

Welcome! I find My Fitness Pal to be a great motivational tool. Keeps me accountable for my intake and exercise. Keep at it! Once you start seeing real results you just can't stop

Try eating avocados!

I struggled with that for awhile myself. For me, it was more due to an unhealthy relationship with food more than anything else. I increased my meal size, included more snacks, and incorporated more calorie-dense foods. And honestly, I feel much better than I did before.

Congrats on your journey so far! I've been a lurker for a long time too :-)

Totally agree with the negativity I've seen on the boards. On the other hand, most of my success came without the support from the MFP community's input....
