  • @josephinebowman Still another 6 months to go on the degree (subject to my final review). I'm definitely ready for it to finish! Congrats on 13 lost, that's awesome! Ice water on the bedside is a good idea, I may have to lift that! Cool tap water just isn't the same!
  • Add me! Always down for more motivation buddies!
  • I love my mini schnauzer, Jiggy. She's 11 years old, but as energetic as she was at age 2! I really really want to adopt a pittie or a pit mix next though. After volunteering at an animal shelter in NYC I absolutely fell in love with them and can't wait to give one a forever home!
  • I hit my highest at the beginning of April (260 lbs.) and I set my goal weight at 160 lbs. It's made all the more frustrating by the fact that at the middle of 2011 I was sitting at about 190. This is a frustrating and challenging road to walk and I'd welcome all the support and friends that want to join me along the way!
  • Totally knew I'd get Aragorn! Now to find my male Arwen!
  • Sarah, 25, Canterbury (originally from the States, getting my PhD at the University of Kent). Let's get this group active again!

  • Everyone, feel free to add me (so long as you're awesome!)!
  • I'm quite the nerd too (Trekkie, Youtuber, film nut, theatre geek, stand-up comedy PhD student, etc.) :) And a nerdfighter (are any of you?). Feel free to send me a friend request, I've been looking for more nerds for support! That goes for everyone :)
  • I can't believe it's taken me so long to think to search for nerdfighters on this site. Silly me! WE ARE EVERYWHERE!!! My name's Sarah, My nerdfighter claim to fame is that I designed the Swoodilypoopers crest that's on hankgames and the t-shirts. I did it on a whim and John @replied me on twitter, next thing I know...…

  • I think @leomom72 means boil it. I do that all the time. Boil two chicken breasts for about 12 minutes in a big pot and then shred them using two forks. There are tons of possibilities: fajitas, chicken salad, curry when mixed with a prepared side (try Tasty Bite sides), and SO MANY MORE! Have fun! :)
  • I too came off of another diet plan, but because I had to go to grad school, and I don't think I could have maintained my weight loss without MFP. I still have a lot to go, but if I can do it, you can too!
  • Craisins are also a great movie snack, just watch out for the sugar if you bring too many. I agree too that popping your own popcorn (I like the Orville Reddenbacker 94% fat free "smartpop") is a great way to still get your popcorn fix but cut the calories by over a half!
  • See, I was the absolute opposite this summer. I lost 40 lbs. and only went down one pants size. To me that was even worse than the other way around. I know I am healthier, but I would love to see more change in my lower half.
  • I started out by running, say, .1 miles, than walking the next .2, and shifting from one to the other up to a mile (this is on the treadmill, btw). The next time start slowly shifting the balance towards running slightly more and walking less until you start running the whole time; it's after that when you can think about…
  • However, the fact remains that the warning about consuming too few calories leading to going into "starvation mode" (whether or not that is actually the case) will not appear so long as the calories you have consumed is 1200 or more. I just did an experiment on my diary and, even though my net calories for today would be…
  • It's down to the amount of calories you consume, not whether or not your final net calories is at or above 1200 Hope that helps!
