Been on 5:2 since January and alongside eating well and workouts have lost 3stone. It's come off 1-3lb per week and I never cut any food groups or have any restrictions on what I eat. Well done on your new way of life :)

MFP has been a bloody godsend for me. I was in total denial about my weigh 9 days ago. Til I got on the scales. I sat down to eat my dinner knowing it was my last takeaway for a LONG time. its def not easy to go cold turkey. i was completely addicted to diet coke (when i say addicted, i mean 30 cans in a weekend :/ ) but im down to two cans a day now just by filling up on water or juice instead. diet coke is a diuretic, which makes you eat when youre actually thirsty! Good luck

the huge amount of starchy food i eat, the bloat - god the bloat! so ive swapped to veggies and protein for a couple weeks, then ill slowly reintroduce so i am not overeating.

oh yeah i know, but imagine getting through three loaves a week. on your own. Or a whole bag of spuds and butter? on your own? lol doesnt work for everyone but i need to break the habit of excess and its just a jumping off point xx

Oh not totally giving up, but I started my lifestyle change on monday and I want to cleanse out a little, so I'm eating very low carb for the first month then will slowly reintroduce. However I'm not missing them as I've replaced potatoes with veggies and salads, and really am loving it!!x

Thank you!! I'm SO motivated this time around. I really can't wait for a year to pass. I'm putting £10 a week into my husbands savings account - if I make my goal of 100lbs, I get all my money to spend on a new wardrobe. If I don't do it, he keeps it!!! x
