Thanks for putting this out there..I've been doing cardio for over a year and now I'm hearing how important it is to do strength training! It's in all the magazines, articles and reports I've been reading. So, I guess I better get started but, like you, I'm intimidated by the weight room and don't know where to start. So,…

That feeling hits us all but THINK about all the reasons you want to be healthy! I have made a list of reasons that I look at when I feel like giving up and that helps. Remember how awful feel when you binge and eat sugar! Remember how good you feel when you put great food in your body and you exercise!

I had bariatric surgery 25 years ago! Almost died when lung collapsed! Have to have B12 shots the rest of my life. Stomach troubles, can't eat certain food. Gained back all the lost weight plus more! Now I'm on MFP. I watch my sugar, refined carbs. I exercise. THIS IS THE WAY TO DO IT! I can't stress it enough!!!! No to…

I love the "small triumphs." They are what lead us to the goal! I've just started (again) and an hour fast walk is a triumph to me. Logging my meals is a triumph! I'm on the uphill path...at last!

I have done WW in the past and I didn't want to pay the weekly $$ so, for $40 I joined a three month weight loss challenge where I was weighed weekly and given food and lifestyle change advice. I REALLY needed to be held accountable to that weekly weigh-in, to look that person in the eye, to know that I was going to have…

I'm worried about the same thing: I logged calories for ten months around 1200/day; lost 15 pounds. I fell off MFP, gained back 25 pounds. Now I'm back on at 1200 calories/day and losing. Afraid to add calories but was advised to by professional. Help! Any literature to read regarding this?

Hi, Linda. I'm 65 and been dieting for 55 of those years! Highest weight was 210. I'm 184 now and hope to see 160s within a year! I keep losing 20, gaining 30. MFP is great! Lots of support, friends, recipes. Join a group of like-minded friends and log your food daily, even if you don't want to. No, especially if you don't…
