  • For your height, your weight seems appropriate. However, if you have gained weight, you may benefit from cutting out junk food / soda. Drink more water, get more sleep, take some vitamins, eat move veggies with every meal. Add in going to the gym so that you can build resistance, and tone up. Don't overdo the cardio, use…
  • Welcome! I've been on and off in the past, Here to stay this time! I've been finding my way around all of the information available (TONS!) Definitely use the search feature, it will connect you to almost everything! :flowerforyou:
  • I returned mine about 2 weeks ago. Strap was extremely hard to close at first. I also started to develop that rash on my wrist despite cleaning it everyday. Personally, I found it to be an expensive gadget that was over counting my steps and number of stairs climbed. Perhaps I would have kept had it been cheaper. I'm going…
  • I think anything new for me will be interesting, thank you!
  • Thanks! BTW saw your post on the monitors. I recently returned my Fitbit Force. Hubby got it for me as a Christmas present. I was extremely excited to track my sleep and my how active I was throughout the day. I was disappointed by it, I gave it 3 weeks, and decided it was not helping me with my goals. I am constantly on…
  • I've checked out SkinnyTaste, I'll give them a try again! I think your diary might be open to just friends though, just tried to look. Thanks anyway :)
  • Thanks, will check it out, I LOVE tasty filling vegeterian meals (a lot of vegetarians in my office, but we are always on the go, so it's not easy to have time for recipe sharing!)
  • Count me in! 25 lbs to go, CW 164, GW 140! :)
  • You have my almost my exact starting weight and goal weight, congrats!!! it's amazing to see others achieve it!! Gives me motivation! :flowerforyou:
  • I see what you mean, and I think I agree, as I was not feeling hungry anymore! I have been on MFP for a while, on and off, but I honestly could have never believed that eating over 1200 could still be healthy- or even necessary
  • Good point, different approaches do seem to all work if people just follow through
  • awesome advice, thank you! I think I started to feel the tear & wear from only eating 1200 at this point.. I had a tough week last week and fell off the wagon a bit. My husband was sick and I made a million excuses and didn't make it to the gym, my eating was not also great- but today's a new day! Just got a stationary…
  • Seriously. I think my stomach's size has literally shrunk, as I get full so much quicker now. I definitely haven't even felt like 1200 is low (a little at the beginning, but I was probably eating about 2500 calories before) , but now I want to be good to my body & give it enough fuel.
  • Agree, definitely going for lightly active for now , I'm convinced, thanks!
  • I don't think I am at the point where I burn that much during workouts, although I am certainly working my way up there! If I go to the gym consistently for the next month or so I will reward myself with an HRM monitor to help keep my cardio in check
  • I guess it's hard because even at the office I am not entirely sitting down, and I do for the most part travel to see clients at least 3 if not 4 days of my week. I have a fibit force and I am currently tracking my steps and distance throughout the day.. Ideally I would only use the lower TDEE only on my off days from the…
  • I've felt that way too. Look for the small NSV's such as underwear fitting more loosely, fitting into jeans that were too tight before, etc =) and hang on! I lost exactly 12lbs as well and I am still wondering where they went, except for the afore mentiones NSV's. Add me for support if you want :)
  • Thanks, that is helpful. It just seems like a big jump from 1200 to almost 1900 for moderately working out. Maybe I should try out going up to 1400 or somewhere near that and see how it goes!
  • I had the same problem. The only real solution is to start lowering your intake. I used to buy the small cans to satisfy the craving once a day or so. Now I no longer drink it. We got a Sodastream machine, and make Seltzer Water. I put Crystal lights packs in it to give it flavor. It's way better than anything you can buy…
  • I recently started dressing my simple side salads with a bit of lemon juice. It gives them a nice kick. I also love Taco style salads, so chopped tomatos, cucumbers, a FEW sprinkles of low fat shredded cheese and peppers could help. I would also recommend trying Kale, it's very nutritious and it actually tastes good, I…
  • We have about the same target date =) I'm 23, a newlywed, and I was so stressed out planning my wedding that I even put on a few pounds. I want to get down to 140 by May, in time for my 24th Birthday. I am so tired of not fitting into clothes, and I really want to be able to go to a store and shop without feeling guilty. I…
  • I've been working on the same thing. I try to have a veggie, a protein and a healthy carb or wheat. I basically rotate Lean ground turkey (can make patties with it as well), boneless chicken breasts and ground chicken, sometimes a couple sautéed shrimp. I do sweet potatoes for my carbs, and I am thinking of trying Quinoa…
  • Yep. Didn't gain anything. I think Didn't count calories, just portion control, it worked :-) Decided to only bring home enough leftovers for my husband and I to have one meal the next day, and no dessert. I think it helped.
  • You are truly inspirational! You look AMAZING! Best wishes! I am starting on my journey and looking at roughly the same numbers you had, and hoping for similar results! I realized this time around (after trying out diets 100 times) that logging my food and measuring the amounts with a food scale would be my #1 priority. I…
  • Pretty sure you can wear the fitbit all day, but the HRM only during a workout. In that case I would take off the Fitbit, and put on the polar so as to not "double up" if that makes any sense.
  • It happens. Just get back to what you were doing before leaving on your vacation. It's a bump on the road, if you did it once, you can do it again!
  • Definitely looking for some peer support as well! I'm 23, but I feel 19 still ;) haha..
