It doesn't matter when you eat, as long as you stick to you calorie goals. I work out from about 7:00 p.m. to 8:00. and eat dinner after. I go to sleep around 10:30. I have kept off 30 pounds off for the past 5 years and now just losing the 5 pounds I gained back over the holidays.

I don't have much to lose, so my weight loss is bit slower than other posters. I lost about 4 pounds (142 to 138).

Yup I use them at my gym! On my knees and I don't usually go all the way down. I don't believe my abs are strong enough for that yet. I go as far down as I can with a straight back. I usually feel it the next day when it hurts to laugh!

At 5'6 I wore a size 6 in stores such as Express and Banana Republic. In seven jeans I wore a size 29.

HUGE difference!! Awesome work!

Hi rosey. I love the bootcamp at my gym. It's more like a group training session with 2 other clients. We lift heavy, do circuits, and also conditioning (prowler runs, etc.) However, I would take crossfit if: a) I didn't have this class available to me and b) I could afford it. Crossfit is crazy money!

I'm 5'6.5 and my goal is 130-135. I am 142 right now and happy - but still need to lose some body fat. If I lost bf and gained muscle, that would be fine too.

Lead by example! Don't gloat, but tell him how much more energy you have, etc. and maybe he'll want to join in.

Not cheating. I often do this to figure out how much I will eat that day. It's just planning ahead.

I think that you should aim for 1 pound per week. As you get closer to your goal, weight loss may be a bit slower. I am 5 pounds away and shooting for .5 pounds per week. So, in five months you should lose about 20 pounds.

I would start looking for a different gym! I am lucky because my gym centers around athletes and weight lifting - and it's affordable too. Anyway, I'm glad you knew it was bs!

Thank you for this post. I thought I was losing my mind!

I read this today as well. I lift heavy and I'm not going to stop but I was wondering if there is science to back this up.

Another girl that I train with! I am at my original goal weight, but I am looking to lose body fat, get stronger, and have more energy. It's helpful to have some friendly competition.
-
I agree with you. The "forced to compete" comment was very off-putting.

Thanks! I was 28 in that pic (29 now).

No I don't log sex. I also don't log walking or cleaning - they are normal activites and not exercise for me personally. I

You don't need to do 100 pound squats...start with body weight squats. If those are good, try holding a 15-20 pound dumbell. I can squat 95 pounds after about 7 months of training (I need to work harder) but we all start somewhere!
