Hi DebbieLyn. In a similar situation here only it's my husband with the health issues. Happy to be friends if you like. I know prednisone can ease inflammation but is rough on the body.

Miss my newsfeed buddies but maybe we can make new friends here. I have been on here for 2707 days plus all the times I just started over when I couldn't get to a computer, was sick or on vacation. At this point I like to use MFP to track my food and water and chat with others. I live in SW Washington state and am retired.

I am at 2707. Have been on here for several years. Probably have more than this because every time I had a problem, no internet or being unable to access a computer, I just started over. Then I discovered how to get the number reset when something like that happened. It is easy enough to do.

My husband uses a walker and is able to exercise comfortably using a recumbent elliptical bike. It is much easier on his back than a regular exercise bike. I would also recommend chair yoga and other chair exercises. There is a site called Grow Young Fitness which I would also recommend ... many chair exercises and chair…

My goals for September are lose another pound or two, exercise a minimum of three times weekly and to work on getting my financial affairs in better.

I am a Lifetime member of WW. My DH and I decided to start up with WW again. He previously lost over 100 pounds on WW and I lost 30. He has gained back half of his weight and so have I. A friend recently joined and has lost weight. He encouraged us to join him. We start Tuesday unless DH changes his mind. If he does, I…

Just for today I will: 1. move more than I sit, 2. spend time in my garden and 3. stay within my calore goals.

Feel free to add me too.

My goal is 130, although 125 would be ideal. I am trying not to focus too much on the number, but more on how clothing fits and how I feel.

As several people have pointed out, there are plenty of overweight vegetarians. It def is not a guarantee of weight loss. If you load up on pasta and cheese or junk food, you won't lose weight. Depending on where you live and what food is available to you, it can be difficult to make a change. I have been a…

I am 67 and find that my biggest obstacle to exercise is not physical at all. It is getting into a lazy mode from time to time. When that happens, it becomes more difficult to make healthy choices. Usually, I walk or run on my treadmill once or twice a day. Do a little yoga and like to garden. Even doing simple housework…

Sounds like you succeeded in "giving up" a lot of things - alcohol, smoking etc. All for the good. If the fizzy drink is your roadblock, maybe try gradually reducing the daily number of those drinks until you don't really crave them. The insidious thing about diet soda is that the more you drink it, the more you crave it.…

Tofu, kale and peas all have protein as does peanut butter. If you eat any dairy (ovo-lacto veg) it is much easier to get all your protein. We just started veg eating a couple of months ago and had the same concern. You are right though, it is difficult not to go over on carbs.

Have you tried throat coat tea? It is very soothing and might be of some help to you.

Would love your recipes! Do you have nutrional info for any of them? If so, that would also be much appreciated. Thanks so much.

Just for today Feb 8 - log in whatever goes in my mouth and drink 6 glasses of water.

I like to add fresh or frozen berries of all kinds, a sprinkling of nuts and some honey or agave syrup. Yummy. Also use it to sub for sour cream and to "beef up" smoothies.

Hello. Feel free to add me as a friend. I'm 67 but it's just a number.

Hello. Just curious how you like the FitBit Charge? Thinking of getting one. Can you tell me pros and cons? Thanks.

Great challenge. I try not to snack after 9pm and have to keep reminding myself that it is way too close to bedtime to be eating anything at that hour. If I can have a planned snack around 7:30, it's ok. Usually a cup of tea and a piece of fruit will satisfy. Gotta remember just to take it one day at a time.

There are many good suggestions listed above. If you don't want to use the gymn, most cruise ships have a walking track on their upper deck. If you don't want to exercise in a group setting, resistance bands will give you a good workout and are very light and easily fit in your luggage. I would suggest planning your food…

Just for today I will log everything that goes in my mouth.

Today I am grateful that I completed my workout and felt happy and energetic afterwards. Also grateful that I did not allow the bad feelings from having eaten out three times yesterday to carry forward to today.

I love them all ... spinach, broccoli, baby bok choy, eggplant, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, artichokes, avocados, sweet potatoes, yams, potatoes, onions ... you name it!

Sounds like plantar fasciitis (my own personal nemesis). To alleviate the pain, I sit on the floor and take a towel or resistance band and place it across my arch. While pulling on the towel/band I flex my foot. Do this until your foot feels better. It usually takes me about five or six repetitions. There are other…

Have had the Ultra for ages. Love it. Just have to remember to wear it.

What is the difference between Bikram Yoga and Hatha?
-
No it does not. You can always use resistance bands or do physical exercises. If you feel like you want something in your hand like a weight but don't want to spend $$ for it, try a can of soup or a bottled water. Lots of ways to build strength.

I am also struggling with it. Let's face it 1200 calories is not a lot. Some days are better than others. I find that if I eat protein and feel full, it's not so difficult. Also lots of veggies and drinking water. But, still, I have to admit that there are times when I go to sleep feeling hungry.
