  • Hiya, Great pics and YAY on the 30pounds to go. We are similar in that surgery was around the same time, and we both have around 30pds to go. I was away last week, saw my surgeon for my 6month check up, they are all pretty happy. Anyway, congrats again on the progress :)
  • Had my sleeve done on 30th Oct. Never, not once, have I ever questioned my decision or regretted it, not for one second. Lying in pre surgical waiting to be wheeled through I did ask myself if I was doing the right thing but it was only in jest and was nerves speaking to me :) In the last week or so, cooking dinner for my…

  • RunnyGranny - how are you doing?
  • Hi twinmoonette :)
  • I didnt have to do it either Mandy. Had no meds to take pre op, then had the heparin inj (Clexane) the day of sugery and the 2 days after whilst I was still in hospital. Once leaving hosp no more injections. Once you are up and moving about (ie when you are able to go home) I would assume the risk of DVT to be alot lower?…

  • great to hear from you. I'm very interested on what the experience was like, considering my surgery is so close now ....5 days and counting :)
  • oh my goodness, that seems very expensive. If I had to pay the full cost here it would be $17150, its a fixed cost, but my insurance is paying it so I dont have to. Thats for a standard 2 nights in a private hospital. And thats NZ dollars, converted to US dollars it would be $13905.22 US. That cost is also for a very…

  • My pre-op diet is 2 wks of of meal replacements, the brand they recommend - Optifast - has shakes, soups, desserts (which I think are essentially the shakes with abit of gelatine added) and bars. I am to have 3 products each day, it doesnt matter which ones. In addition to it I can have clear broth, diet drinks, 2 cups…

  • Hello, I'm new too :) My gastric sleeve surgery is booked on 30th Oct and I cant wait. For the last 4 weeks I've cut right back on calories, aiming for around 1200 per day and have lost just over 5kg so far, starting the VLCD this coming Monday, using Optifast on the advice of the bariatric dietician. Exciting but tough…
