I'll be 58 this year (close enough!) Looking to lose 90 pounds so I can be sexy at 60!

I love to eat edamame. Buy them frozen in the the shell, cook them at home ( the entire package) and you have three servings for your lunches during the week. Add a hard-boiled egg and a piece of fruit.

I'm 57. I have no metabolism. It flat-lined years ago. :grumble:
-
I was not aware of how much I drank until I saw it as calories when tracking. I measured what I was pouring over ice and I was appalled that I would have three of those over the course of the evening. EVERY evening. Whoa! It literally scared me!
-
I agree. Why are you starving yourself?

Do you watch your salt intake? I cut my sodium limit to 1200 mg (instead of 2500mg allowed by MFP) The scales won't tip in my favor if I eat too much salt.

2 Tbsp fresh O.J 1/2 to 2/3 cup fat free plain Chaboni greek yogurt 1/2 small banana 2 Tbsp old fashioned Quaker oats (raw) 5-6 frozen unsweetened strawberries I was told I needed to have protein and carbs for breakfast and this does the trick with little fat. I have this at 7:00 a.m. and (if need be) I am good until 11:30.

3/4 cup of non-fat greek yogurt with 1.5 tablespoons of low sugar orange marmalade mixed in. Black coffee, too.

I just discovered edamame. It is a great source of plant protein and it's fun to squeeze the little beans out of the pod. I take some to work everyday.

There have been some real eye-opening comments on my original post. As always, varying degrees of agreement, but I find everyone's willingness to help uplifting. Ok, now for the reality check. I am a 57 year old female who is 5'6" and 230 pounds. I probably DO drink more than 200 calories a day, but now I am afraid to…

Thank you. I think this is the best advice. Bye, bye scotch  I was successful doing South Beach years ago. I thought it was because it was so low carb, but maybe abstaining from alcohol was a big factor as well.
-
It's NOT HALF of my daily calories. I'd be sloshed! :drinker: I have maybe 200 calories in alcohol.
-
Yes! Every last one of them!

It's never too late. Find some bologna, fry it up in a bit of butter and slap it between two pieces of white bread!. I think there may have been ketchup involved.... nom, nom, nom.....

Had them every Saturday. Big thick slices on spongy Town Talk bread. I'm from Pittsburgh...go STEELERS!
-
OMG, I remember those! Are you from Western PA??

boiled cabbage in warm milk. Lots of salt and pepper!

I mean that I normally detest all things good for me!

A few years ago I had to have surgery to have a tumor removed. I joked and told my sister that I hoped the tumor weighed 40 pounds. She pinched my flabby chin(s) in front of a LOT of people and said, "Well, having that tumor removed won't take care of THIS." That was the most hurtful thing she's ever said to me -- and…

I'll have what you're having!!

Friend request sent. We fellow Friday joiners must stick together. I previously was reluctant to start anything unless it was a Monday and the 1st of the month. We must really be serious to start this thing at the end of the week.
-
I wouldn't worry about fruit. I always blow my nose and shave my legs before weighing in. Every 1/100th of an ounce counts.
-
I just joined today and would love to have some new friends. Add me too!
-
Oh, a new friend who also doesn't like exercise. Honestly, I hate it. I think it's all a big lie. Friend request has been sent.
-
Yeah, I don't like them either....wink, wink.
-
I'm in. Don't get angry(er), but how do you "add" someone?
-
I just joined today as well. I'm hoping for a lot of fun support. Good luck! I wish you much success on your journey
