Two things: It's much harder to notice your own body looking different, we all have distorted views of ourselves sometimes. Secondly, the camera adds ten pounds. You are not disgusting.

For those of you playing at home, I skipped a few days of running and then busted out a 10.5k long run yesterday. It was Ok. I wouldn't call it amazing but it only sucked in parts. I had a few longish walk breaks (3-4 mins) and my pace was about average. I hope I can keep improving, thanks for the tips :)

I ran 10.5 km today. (Furthest run, longest run, slowest run!) As I was going along I realised that my upper body does not slosh around any more when I run. Also sometimes I even get in the zone and enjoy myself. And I think my legs have changed shape since I started running seriously, my pants fit differently. Can't wait…

Do you equate relaxing with eating and drinking? Maybe you could try substituting some other activity that is just as relaxing (I have no concrete suggestions, I think getting a massage every day could prove quite expensive!)

Are you eating enough for breakfast and lunch? Or are you starving by 4pm?
