That is exciting!! Good for you :)

I get the same thing with my "generic" look. I was talking to a friend once and he told me to answer the "have we met" or "do I know you" question with "no, but my sister does porn". It always gets a good laugh!

Mine, too. We have divided interests and we encourage each other equally. We are able to be individuals in our relationship. I've always been heavy and just got heavier after getting married. I'm now below my weight when we started dating and my husband has been completely awesome...cheering me on every day. No matter my…

ahh...good ol' patience. It's a virtue, right?

My self esteem isn't so much the issue as my mind's eye. I feel good, I'm definitely proud, but there are times when I just don't "see" myself and it can bring me down just a bit....but I always pop back. I really think progress pictures are going to help!

I really appreciate the feedback. I can say that when I was heavier I always had great self esteem...and not in a "faking it" kind of way. Maybe it was the last heavier picture I saw that deflated that a little. I do like the idea of taking progress pictures, maybe that's just what I need to really see me because I just…

Me, too.

Oh.....I have a nail clipper in my office, too, and it makes me CRAZY! Why would someone think this is appropriate???? And he always does it while he's on the phone with a client. If I can hear it, they can hear it. I also have a gum snapper, which is my #1, drive me up a wall, pet peeve. I just put my headphones on and…

I love this! OP, congratulations on going smoke free! I think it's great that you can be happy for your sister, just remember that we're all individuals and we work in different ways, so keep your head up and move toward your goal. It's a freakin' slow process, but it'll pay off! Good luck!!!

I'd love to have more friends, so add me! I'm 41, started at 251 with a goal of 160-170. I've been at this since the beginning of November and it really has changed things for me!

Well said.

This. Absolutely. I'm in the same situation and I KNOW for sure it's sabotage. I just keep smiling and saying No Thank You.

Love it!

The same thing happened to me at about the same time...I had lost 24 lbs. I read a lot about things to do, but what I did was stick it out. It was almost 4 weeks before I saw the scale move, but it finally happened. I don't think it would hurt to increase calories a little or even exercise more. I procrastinated long…

Wow! Your post was inspiring and the pictures show your hard work! Thank you for posting and being a light on my journey!

I definitely agree with this. Most people don't want to say anything. I was waiting and waiting...even my husband didn't say anything! The first person who was like "WOW!!! You look great!" was a business partner that I only see a few times a year. He definitely put a smile on my face. That was at 25 lbs. I'm closer to 35…

If it's not water, then it's coffee, wine or Vitamin Water Zero. Sometimes Coke Zero or beer. I do add Propel Zero powder or Arizona Iced Tea powder to my water to make it more interesting. Honestly, I don't know what kind of sweetener is in them, but I like them.

Great recipes!

I can't wait to try this!! I almost cried when I saw the calories in a McD's iced coffee.

New Mexico. Luckily we have wonderfully delicious (and good for you) green chile, but it's usually on top of something fried and/or covered in cheese. Mmmmm...enchiladas, chimichangas. Is it time for lunch yet?

THIS! I crave junk food and I have it...in moderation. I had 2 pieces of pizza and a beer for dinner last night and it was WONDERFUL! I knew this would be dinner and I rationed my cals for it. I almost always have a piece of chocolate at night, too. This works (for me) to curb my sugar cravings during the day (knowing that…

I have the same problem. I would be happy with a cup or 2 of coffee all day. I've had to push myself to start drinking water and it has helped me TREMENDOUSLY to add a drink mix in (not all of the time, but usually for 1/2 of the water I drink). The mix I use (Arizona Ice Tea Pomegranate Green Tea) is sugar free and…
