You absolutely can. Growing muscle requires weight training, that's true. But getting "buff" has nothing to do with losing a belly.

It wasn't meant to make people feel bad. It was just a fat guy's observation.

I can't believe eating over 3000 calories in a day is hard for people. I can do it - easily - in one sitting.
-
You seem like a lot of fun.

Eat less. Lift weights. Cardio is unnecessary unless you just want to. Lifting while at a deficit will allow you to keep some muscle while you lose what's covering it.
-
Doesn't affect mine, I used to use it quite a bit. That actually sounds good, maybe I'll go get some and make some curry when I'm done with this meatza.

You didn't gain a pound in a day because of a little chinese food. That's extra water retention and whatever else. Creating a large enough calorie deficit to lose any real weight on working out alone is next to impossible unless you're spending a few hours every day working out. If your goal is to lose weight and to only…

Eat more. Either add more fat or add more carbs. Under 1000 calories per day is bonkers for long periods of time.
-
Yup I can see it. Carb load today - my favorite day of the week!
-
I can't see your logs. I just started a CKD last week! Woohoo!

Eat less...and do push ups and pull ups? You're kind of stuck with the lower body workouts. You may be able to ride a bicycle?

http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=155009423 Best beginner program to gain a little weight. Starting Strength is great too but it's a little more for people trying to get strong and not worried about gaining weight.

Kayano's are running shoes, no lateral stability. They're stability running shoes with the post for runners that pronate. Flat soled shoes - New Balance makes some, Reebok makes the Nano, etc. - are ideal for lifting as they have a thin sole that doesn't absorb the energy you're expending to lift or push. Flat soles also…

And dead lifts.

I think using one of the formulas or the scooby calculator to estimate your tdee is the best way. I compared my Polar FT4, Bodymedia Fit and two apps and got a huge difference in calories burned for various activities.

The Aspirin is unnecessary which is why I cut the 'A' off of it when I suggested it earlier. It's really the only thing that elevates your metabolism a meaningful amount.

The EC stack works. Srs. Just google that and read about it. I think a lot of people misunderstand the concept of a lot of thermogenics. Yes they're marketed as a way to lose weight but what they really do is help keep your energy up while you're eating at a deficit and working out. At the moment I'm doing a PSMF and it's…

I wouldn't lift weights after 40-50 minutes of cardio. If you're going to do cardio prior to lifting, stick to about 10 minutes just to warm up then go lift. Other than that 40-50 minutes of cardio a week isn't too much but I think you'll look better with less cardio and more lifting.

I do full body workouts so I didn't exactly do the program...but my workout did include power cleans and dips so maybe I was close? It was hard and it lasted a long time.

I saw this at that other site and can't remember if I commented or not...but good work sir. You look a little like Eric Bana in the face. Well post weight loss face anyway.

Since Muscle Milk was already suggested, it's delicious, I'll say BSN Syntha 6. It's also delicious but I think it's a little more caloric than Muscle Milk. Cookies and Cream in either is break your mouth scrumptious.

A scoop of protein powder.

HOLY NOODLES you're 47 and can't handle someone being snarky because you posted something stupid! Seasoned and calm? Yeah I can tell by you calling people with a different opinion snotty. Is "seasoned & calm" another way of saying old, bitter and condescending? Is there any other reason you felt it was important to…

Maybe she wasn't talking about the noodles that come in a bag. If she was, I'll give you another little bit of history behind them that you may not know. They're delicious. If you can't handle 400 calories of delicious noodles once in awhile, it's not the ramen's fault.

1) Chest - 39.25, Abdomen - 40.75, Waist - 38.85, Hips - 43 2) Weight 197, Bodyfat - 20% (Down from 38% January 9!) 3) My goal is to be 10% bodyfat by June 1. It's a little ambitious and not very likely but if I'm going to set a goal, I may as well make it worth reaching. I don't care so much about my weight. 4) I'll have…

Hello! Congrats to both of you on your almost 30 pounds lost! I guess I'll go ahead and check in even though I'm not sure we've started. Lifted weights from 5:15 to 6:15 this morning and just did some Crossfit for lunch. The WOD only took about 20 minutes but it feels good to be productive at work!
