To the OP. I recommend you watch the documentary "Fat Head" (it's on Netflix also). Really, this will explain much more precisely how insulin and carbohydrates plays a role in the process of gaining weight/loosing weight. I could explain, but it's long and I'm sure I will do it wrong. But basically, all carbs are…

Thanks [for the recipes as for the education]

I just started using it tonight. I used it in a Wok on high and it didn't burn. I have Omega Nutrition Organic Coconut Oil.

I use dark greens as wraps (collards, Swiss chard), just cut out the stems! I also found an awesome recipe for foccacia-style flax bread. No flour and pretty easy, no kneading and takes 20 minutes to bake. My advice is to let it sit 5 minutes before pouring it into the pan, so it rises enough. Here's the recipe: [there's…

But all carbs turn into sugar in your body. You have to get good carbs with a low GI, so your body has more time to burn it. Eating simple carbs is like eating simple sugars. Stay away from white flour, white bread, white rice, all refined processed grains products. Also, get your fruits fresh, and not dried (normally,…

Weird this is just what I had for dinner tonight. Easy, simple and fast. In a aluminium foil sheet, place one leaf of Swiss chard (stem removed), some bean sprouts, one skinless tilapia filet on top, drizzle a bit of lemon juice, EVOO and sprinkle 1-2 tbsp of ground flax seeds on top of the fish. Fold the foil to create a…

bump. It looks delish! (well, mine will use TVP and soy cheese, but I'm looking forward!)

For a low calorie, low net carbs, and high protein sweet snack; I mix 1 serving of protein powder (I use 30 grams of Prairies Natural Organic Brown rice protein coffee caramel flavor, so yummy) with 1 cup of Silk unsweetened Almond milk and 3 tbsp of ground flax seeds. I divide it in 3 and let it sit in the fridge to set.…

Krispy Kernels trail mixes. They sell it in individual size of 75 grams. But the serving size is 50 grams. So when you look fast, you think you're actually eating 260 calories, but in fact, you're eating 405 calories. I'm on the go, how am I supposed to weight this? I mean, I'm no drug dealer, I don't carry a mini digital…

Oh, and Brussel sprouts (I buy them frozen, so there's less bitterness)

Nuts butter. Especially almond. I discovered raw kale chips ; OMG! Salsa, I can eat it by the spoonful. I also have a thing for thin rice cakes/corn cakes with unpasteurized honey or blackstrap molasses. Yep, all healthy, but possibly really fattening when you over do it.

Agree with this. My ex tattoo artist's boyfriend is always tattooing s/o names so dark, that even laser would have a hard time getting it off. And he was informing his customers of that. "You want a name tattooed? Here : You'll really have it for the rest of your days!" I actually prefer to have something that symbolize my…

It's called Shirataki noodles. The original ones are 0 cal. Normally, 0 cal food doesn't have much health benefits, but actually konjac (the yam they use to make the flour) is a superfood. Google it! It's great for lowering cholesterol and it'S packed with soluble fibers. I'm in Canada and I buy the MIracle Noodle brand.…

My dinner consisted of riced cauliflower topped with homemade vegan chili and broccoli sprouts And now I am chewing some sugar free gum (yup can't go without these!)

Bump:D If somebody made these with a different kind of flour (I want to make these wheat free), I would like to know how it turned out. Maybe with some corn flour or quinoa flour?

I like diet soda, but diet Mountain Dew : I felt the same way.

I like them. Like ... a lot. I normally have Inari Multigrain. It's organic fat free and gluten free. But those are plain. I think they also have a better crunch than Quaker. If not : Quaker caramel corn and if I can remember the white cheddar ones are yummy. Salty, yet a bit tangy. I normally eat the plain ones like an…

Carbs. I could eat a whole french baguette. Crackers. Pasta. Lately it as been saltine crackers and sugary spreads.
-
Make your own, or if you prefer buying it, I would recommend something more like Kashi. Special K, Quaker are most likely filled with sugar and not much nutrition. (Especially Special K, it's mostly air, wheat and sugar, I eat it like I would eat a candy bar)

In baked goods, pureed bananas can be easily replaced by applesauce. I normally use applesauce instead of fat or eggs in sweet baked goods and it always turned well. (Well, almost ...)

I know exactly what you are referring to. I prefer "light" food too, like veggies, because it doesn't makes me feel full. Sometimes, I see myself as a ballerina [even if I don't dance and do not see myself as graceful as a ballerina], I need to feel my body light as a feather, as if it could fly. Dense foods makes me feel…

Bump for later. Maybe ....

I'll go with what others said:peppermint tea. Try some good quality stuff (organic and/or pharmaceutical grade), maybe go for herbal tea since caffeine can be harsh on the digestive system. I discovered that wheat based products were creating digestive distress, bloating and gas for me. Maybe try to cut down on those…

Running ... I don't run. But : ZOMBIES!!! (Well, I might actually start to run lol)

My boss and manager are always making fun of my food. Since I'm vegan and eat plenty of whole foods/cooked at home meals they make fun of it. I remember when I was always drinking at fruit and vegan protein smoothie in a big mason jar in the morning, they were always laughing and saying I was drinking mud. Sometimes the…
