  • Rihanna and Black Eyed Peas are great.
  • I too struggle with the all or nothing attitude. BUT...I discovered that I am "bad" for a meal (or a day), I still need to track it here. Because sometimes I surprise myself that my being "bad" wasn't really THAT bad - and I feel less guilty and then eat better! It's all cause and effect!

  • Yep. I check in on the first of the month. It's great to see progress, especially when maybe you don't lose pounds. I do upper arm, waist, hips/butt and thigh.
  • Congrats! We all have to thrive on the small victories!!
  • I understand your frustration. I started on MFP in mid-December. It took me about 4 weeks to START losing weight. But my inches were drastically different. So, yes, measurements can really change eventhough your weight does not. I felt that I had changed my lifestyle, tracked all my calories and worked out frequently and…
  • I have found that eating oatmeal with cinnamon and splenda for breakfast is a good filler-upper. It keeps me full until lunch time. I eat a frozen meal or Progresso Light Soup with 5 saltines for lunch, but that usually leaves me hungry around 2pm. I then eat the SmartPop 100 calorie pack popcorn. It might smell up the…
  • I actually use Circuit Training to track it, as a cardio exercise.
  • I feel your pain. I have been tracking and working out for 6 weeks now and I have only lost 2lbs. It's very discouraging...but I'm keeping at it. It's hard to stay motivated when you don't see results.
  • Sounds like you made some great gifts for teachers, neighbors, coworkers, family and friends!! :)
  • Congrats! Will power is so hard, but so great when it works!
  • I too have found it difficult with the lack of support from my live-in boyfriend. I wouldn't say he's unsupportive, but he doesn't provide motivation or kudos. He also challenges my will power by stocking the house with cheetos and cookie dough and making your typical "meat and potatoes" dinners. I try to tell him I want…
  • Is there any one book that people have found most useful? There's such a variety, but I can only buy one right now and I want to get the most bang for my buck!
  • I measure about once a month, in the morning on a weigh in day.
  • Welcome! Don't let the soreness deter your motivation...once you get over the hump your body will thrive on workouts!
  • Thanks for all the great recommendations! Looks like I'm heading to Walmart after work today...
  • My boyfriend and I have been together for 3 years and lived together for 2 - so we're much like you. We went through the same thing - where being a relationship isn't "exciting" anymore so you have to find ways to make it so. We like to play Yahtzee and card games. There's usually always a bet involved - from a 5 minute…
  • I'm trying to keep a blog too...it helps to keep me accountable (even if I'm the only one who reads it)!
  • The first week is by far the hardest. But once you get your body used to it (and get over any muscle soreness)...your body will actually start to MISS the workouts! You'll notice an energy boost and stress reduction. Just make that critical decision to get started...
  • Hi there, I am new to MFP...as yet another effort to try losing weight. I tried Weight Watchers and only lost 3 lbs over 14 weeks! I lost 10lbs this summer by eating only when I was hungry - a feat for sure! Now I'm realizing just how much I'm eating since I've been tracking. I'm trying to stick under 1200 calories and…
