Does anyone own this book? It is worth the $8.00 I paid for it. I carry it everywhere I go and it always helps me to make the right choices. I just wanted to get the word out about this book if you haven't already heard of or bought it.

I don't have the book but a co-worker let me borrow it for a day (there are different versions of this book) and I found it to be interesting. I was more interested in knowing the calorie and fat content of some of the food(s) in there, not really to use it because a lot of it was fast food choice comparisons and I don't do fast food.
There are others foods besides fast food though.
Anyhow I think it is worth your $8 to carry around. I think most places post their nutrition facts now a days but it is still a handy thing to have.

Agree with pannellkat. It's definitely worth the money. Opened my eyes to some things. I don't use it all the time, but it's definitely worth the money

Sure do. I think it comes it really handy on the weekends (my downfall) especially.
  • My fav is the grocery guide! There is also a part in there for kids. It's important to me that I start my kids out eating healthy so that they don't face the same issues I have now.

I have it. Used it for a while then haven't had to consult it as I learned what to eat and what not to (for my limited diet). It's worth the money if you have no other source.

I have it. You know, I haven't used it in like a year. I used to all the time, but at this point, I really don't even need it any more. Once in a while I'll look up the nutrition on the choices I've made that I'm not exactly positive about, and most often, I was correct in my assessment. It's amazing how fast you learn what to look out for when eating out. There's a lot of telltales out there.

Is there any one book that people have found most useful? There's such a variety, but I can only buy one right now and I want to get the most bang for my buck!

Same here Boss,,, after a while you just know what's Ok and what's not. Now, once in a while I choose to eat something that's not great, but at least I know in advance what I'm doing.

We mostly avoid the real deathtraps where all they serve is sugar and fat and salt. Applebees/Logans/Texas Roadhouse/Damons. I'd rather just hit a good chinese buffet and have a ton of salad & fruit & veggies & grilled meat, and a little rice (and finish with a little pudding :blushing: ).

for me it was the one with the fast food and restaurant swaps... i got it when it first came out. i would like to try the one with the grocery store swaps but, have yet to fork over the money. i think it would be beneficial at this point bc i really don't eat out as much anymore. maybe i'll get one with my christmas money... :)

I've read a few of them. Check your local library. Even my small town library has them, so you can read it for free.

I'd love to say I avoid Texas Roadhouse, but I don't, every about 3 months or so I go and have a big fat Porterhouse or Prime Rib. Hey, a man's gotta have his steak every once in a while right??!!

Me too on the steakhouse, though I don't hit that one. The porterhouse is great, and the potato is great, and the salad is great, and the green beans are great. I enjoy that, and it's good for me.

But - - - they serve this good stuff along with fried bread, and a quart of jet-fuel salad dressing, and enough cheese on the salad to make a pizza, and don't even look at the appetizers. Careful careful,,,
