  • Hey ya'll. I'm a mom of 2. Ella (6) and Will (2.5). I've been down the weight loss road before. But I'm finding it incredibly more difficult this time around. I had a great start about a year ago, but I've managed to gain it all back. I feel pretty spread thin, and struggle to make nutrition planning and working out a…

  • I'm no a Curves member, but I'll throw in my tips anyway :) I always struggle to find the adequate activity to log in the preset list the site offers. So I use my HR monitor and then just enter generic cardio or weight training activity and set the time/reps to match the number of cals my HR monitor said I burned. Best of…
  • So first of all, it's apparent that you've put some hard work into yourself... good for you, that couldn't have been easy. If you're just looking for an opinion about overall appearance... bulk a bit :) However, if you're wanting general advice about what strategy to take to reach your goals, here are spome thoughts from a…
  • I hit up Pinterest when I need new recipes... you can find old, new, and all sorts of variations there.
  • Try the Body Beast Turkey Chili recipe... it's pretty straigh forward and super yummy :)
  • Cangrats! Babies are wonderful... I had my second last Nov. Time flies, so soak in as much as you can . Focus on getting to know your baby and establishing your new life/routine with your new addition. Attempting to get sleep will be important to recovery and weight loss (later on). Having a new baby can be stressful, both…
  • Did anyone send you any recipes that work for you? I'm following the same macro's at the moment :)
  • Hahahahahaha! I never thought of it like that before! Funny stuff. I happen to have leg day on the books twice this week. I'm not new to lifting, but it's been a bit since I've slung iron around consistantly. Been at it for about 3 weeks now. Every day feels like the first day... painful. Must be doing something right…
  • My victory was putting on my trainers and getting my workout done despite feeling pretty defeated at the moment. But I know, if I put enough days together of making healthy choices, things will pay off. I just have to stay the course:bigsmile:
  • I think "put good in, get good out" is a fantastic philosphy... very wise for such a young age. If you're eating clean you don't have to worry so much about how many cals you're eating. If you're going for the toned look, pick up those weights chick! Not that I've ever been in "perfect" shape... but if you take a look at…
  • ouch... sounds painful :frown: I'm wondering the same thing as BigT555. I usually get similar pain when I need to change shoes, I've let my conditioning slack, or I add miles too quickly. The treadmill may be a bit too hard a surface (especially if you're running trails, a track or on grass when you run outside). If you do…
  • Good for you to get back in control of things... can't be easy. I took a quick look at your diary, as far as I can tell, you're not meeting your cal goal. It looks like you get pretty close to your macro's. But at an approx 1300 daily cal goals, you can't really afford not to eat all those cals. I'm not sure I have any…
  • Hey chick! So you're certainly not alone in trying to loose a "little amount" of weight. Most people with tell you that loosing a few pounds can be just as, if not more, frustrating than loosing a lot of weight. I'm curious, what sort of activity are you doing and how many cals are you eating daily?
  • Allan, any chance you're a part of the Year of the Beast group on FB? I'm with you on trying to stay leaner. I definite didn't cut enough when I did it so I was a bit "fluffier" than I would have liked. But it was a great program for me to start with since I was (and still am) a novice weight lifter :)
  • I've done the program 1x and I'm starting again tomorrow (eek). I'm doing it with a bunch of others, who for the most part are Body Beast experts... so I'm going to either sink or swim... and I don't plan to sink  I hope you decided to take the plunge!
  • Sending friend request along shortly. It sounds like we have some things in common (just turned 30, I'm a runner, training for a 1/2 in Sept, I work outside the home and have small kiddo's). Looking forward to getting to know you and supporting you along the way :)
  • Sending a friend request along. Looks like we have kiddo's similar in age. I'm on FB mostly, but trying to check in here more often since it's my nutrition that I need to work on the most. Let's get to it... no more excuses :)
  • I can totally sympathize with feeling completely at a loss for time. I have only two kids and work full time and I usually feel like I'm totally stretched for time. I agree with the other ladies. You don't have to exercise to lose weight; nutrition contributes to the majority of getting trim. And as a bonus, our nutrition…
  • Sending you a friend request! I can always use more positive and motivated people to connect with :) My success is in large part due to the people I surround myself with... looking forward to working with you!
  • How has everyone been doing? I have an 8 month old and I'm trying like mad to loose my baby weight by his 1st birthday. I packed on nearly 70 lbs. And between no sleep and just generally being busy, it's been tough! Sooo... how's it going?
  • Dude, seriously... take a step back. You've done some amazing things all on your own. Congrats! As far has "hitting a wall", you'll be hard pressed to find someone on here who hasn't had the same problem at one point or another. So a couple of things that have helped me: 1. I keep things interesting. If I start to get…
  • I'm a big believer in "going with your gut". It hasn't let me down yet. With that said, though, as a behavioral health therapist I've seen many examples of how a person's "gut" would steer them wrong. I typically weigh the pro's v con's, talk it out with people who I trust, and then go with what my gut is telling me. I…
  • I love this! As a coach, I'm constantly trying to figure out what my team members want/need from me. And you've taken all the guess work right out of the equation... and quite honestly, it makes my job a whole lot easier. I do the majority of my communication through FB, but if you need it, I'll touch base with people via…
  • I hope you find the support and advice you need. I haven't used anything like that before. I've been fortunate enough to have luck with home based fitness programs and loads of online support. Do what you gotta do, to get where you want to be :) Best wishes!
  • Ok, I'm not sure I totally understand what you're asking... but I'm going to take a shot. Are you asking about how to create a hybrid schedule? Or how to track your activity when you log into this site? If you are trying to determin how to create a schedule, there are some websites that have already done a lot of that work…
  • I LOVE Combat. Let me put it this way, I have a new baby at home who gets me up multiple time each night... so sleep is at a premium. But I'll get out of bed before work for a LM Combat workout ;) The music is great, the instructors are motivating (but not annoying) and the combinations are challenging but catchy. I don't…
  • It really depends on your body, but for the most part, if you're creating a calorie deficit of 3500 in 1 week you will loose 1 lb. On average you should try to loose about 1-2 lbs per week, although sometimes we will loose more or less depending on a number of things. But 1-2 lbs/week is considered "healthy". If you can…
  • It sounds like your learning and determined... both are so important when you're changing your lifestyle. Keep at it and surround yourself with support. You can do it. Best wishes and good will power ;)
