I go even one step further. I have a well equipped home gym. My office has an amazing gym to use at lunch. AND I still just signed up for a $40/mo gym membership. I find the gym atmosphere inspires me to push a bit harder than I do at home. Also, I like the classes. Oh, and I'm still overweight and out of shape. Working on…

I focus on how thin and fit the actors/actresses are and how much I'd like to look and feel like that.

I have known two people personally (not a friend of a friend of a friend) who have DIED as a direct result of bariatric surgery. One in his 30's and the other in his 40's. One other who I know has come to our house and we get to hear him coughing up his meal (I'm not THAT bad of a cook) because nothing will stay down.…

But part of that balancing is using your muscles to hold yourself. It's not just an equilibrium thing, it's building the strength to hold your body in the pose. I like to lift but I also love yoga. It seems that it is often misunderstood as sitting around and stretching. If someone practices 5 days a week like OP I'm…

I work for a candy company. Our vending machines with full size candy bars and other yummy snacks are FREE. It's a killer. I try to avoid even walking past it. When temptation hits, I also calculate the "is it worth it" but translating the calories into minutes on the bike/elliptical machine. Sometimes...it's a yes, but…

Simple. I lift so I can carry and swing a weapon to kill zombies. I do cardio so I can outrun zombies. I do yoga so I can outmaneuver the zombies.

This has happened to me in yoga a few times but not during cardio.

But did your boss like it?

HAHAHAHA! If you get dizzy during spin DON'T stop completely or you could faint. Just sit, turn the tension down and pedal slower.

If that gym was conveniently located for me and only $300/yr I think I'd join anyway. Screw that guy. Don't let him make decisions for you. Talk to the manager and let him/her know what happened and then go prove that dude wrong. It would motivate me to get there just to look in his eyes each time as an "I told you so".
