  • Thank you for that info lalepepper! I'm going to play with the numbers. The 1580 is not assuming activity pretty much.
  • I need a better plan, so looking here for inspiration. My calorie intake with losing 1 lb a week (5'10, 192 lb) is 1580. I feel like I'm starving the closer I get to 1500, so I HAVE to work out to be able to get 1 more snack or something. It was my understanding, that we really shouldnt eat less than 1500 cals in general,…
  • They are a bit pricey, but I like White House Black Market. If you get them on season sale they are really well priced, so if I find something that works I stock up. Eddie Bauers fit me too, but I don't like the feel of them and they make my butt look bigger.
  • I dated some short guys and it was just awkward and didn't work. When there eye sight comes to your boobs...They were jerks anyways. My husband is about a half inch taller than me  but he really holds on to that half inch proudly. Its always been easier if someone is at least my height.
  • Not sure I'm your twin, but!... 32 yrs old 5'10 SW: 210 CW: 192 GW: 172
  • Would love to make some MFP Friends. I am 5'10", currently 192 lbs. When I started MFP a while ago I was 210. In May of this year I was 182 which I felt really good about; then some really crappy life circumstances happened and I gained 10 pounds. But I am back! And looking to make a change  Feel free to add me! My…
  • I was SO not prepared for this recovery. It's been a week and the fatigue is worse than the swelling etc. Managing to get in my calories finally though - even though my front 2 teeth and gums really hurt from the surgery. Proud of myself when I get the tiny-est things done. Like unloading the dishwasher and folding…
  • I had surgery a week ago exactly and mine was also at 3 pm. I had to be there at 1:30 pm and I was able to survive on only a sip of water. I ate my last bit of something at 11 pm and went to bed at midnight. My thought was that I would sleep late-but I was too nervous to sleep very well. I was told to not eat or drink…
  • Thanks guys :) Eager to get to next week so I can have it over with and start recovery ... and be able to breathe again!
  • Thanks! I get stir crazy if I can't do a good amount of moving. As much as it's not great to lose weight through surgery, as long as I don't put on pounds after it from the yo-yoness of it, I am good. Just have to focus on getting nutrients. Were you on a liquid/soft foods diet for the first few days? I remember when I was…
  • I feel weird sleeping naked...usually just a tank and my short exercise spandex like shorts.
  • Thanks Lizzy, whole heartidly agree. Maybe that will be more of the case this year, I hope. Being 4000 miles away from home has been interesting. Food wise, think I will just stay make good nutritional choices, but enjoy it. Will have 2 long days of air travel, but hoping to get some activity in while I'm back home.
  • Usually a Tall Latte 1%, no sugar added. If I want to treat myself a 2% Tall Hot Cocoa.
  • Hi! Happy to see this thread for support. I was disgnosed when I was 16 with absence seizures. I have had 4 grand mals in my life. I also have a tic disorder which is basically like myoclonic jerks without seizure activity. Weight loss has been a challenge. When I got off depakote (after 10 yrs of it) my metabolism…
  • Been feeling this way recently too. i lost 15 pds and for some reason my confidence is not where it should be. Not sure where this comes from. I know I'm not. Think women focus too much on numbers and should cut themselves more slack. I Agree with jewlz280 - getting a new routine etc might help. Hope your spirits raise…
  • The 2 pds per week I have found a challenge with, but I don't have the motivation some do. I would say more realistically 1-1.5 pds to be able to keep it off. I am certain I could lose weight faster if I ate cleaner and exercised more vigorously - but at the same time, right now, I think I am doing pretty well considering…
  • Aside from the ketogenic diet, doctors are now introducing a "Modified Atkins Diet for Seizures" for adults as ketogenic has primarily been used for adolescents (I believe - please correct me if I am wrong). It is similar to ketogenic but not as strict (but still strict). I have high cholesterol (triglycerides)…
  • Hi, From my experience I can tell you a couple things in terms of weight goes. 1. Topamax makes you drastically lose weight (in a bad way; like 20 pds in a month). It also makes you not be able to think; there is a reason some refer to it as "dope-amax". Poor quality of life. Then when you change meds you will just gain…
  • @quirktizzy - exactly. It lowers your metabolism, so that is what goes on, whether you eat more or eat normal. I am getting on keppra and coming off depakote b/c of pregnancy reasons. Yay! Praying it helps my metabolism. I am starting with 500 mg/twice a day and will eventually go up likely once it is deemed safe that I…
  • Wow, I have lost 10 pds in the past and my boobs stayed the same - 38DD - wondering how much weight it would take me to lose to go down to a 38D. I would be fine with that! I think it depends on the person though in how and where they gain and lose the weight.
  • Yep, happened to me too :( I had only lost 10 pounds after working really hard at it and then I gained it back over my many travels over several months. So starting a couple weeks ago I hit the reset button. The hardest part for me I think is still eating well on days I don't feel well and keeping the weight off.
  • I think I look ok without it, I will go on errands without it on a lot, I do look "finished" when I have it on though. As far as everything else, I struggle with not comparing myself to others. My husband tells me I am beautiful every day though :)
  • My face. My stomach is usually the last thing to go (which happens to be the most problem area!)
  • Thanks for your support. It is frustrating. I don't drink soda, my Mom never allowed my siblings & I to have it so I never developed that craving. Even though my carbs & sweets are okay, but I should try and limit them a little more than I am. I have lost 7 pounds, but it has been slow. My husband has lost 24 pounds! in…
  • I'm having the same issue and it really discourages me. I have epilepsy, migraines and anxiety. Hate my brain! But the medications I am on for my epilepsy are also for bi-polar disorder. I can't go on any other really, because it is the only one that works (on combo of depakote & lamictal) and one of the side effects is…
  • Yes, this is very difficult. When I eat out with friends if we are going to a place with nutritional information, I plan it before I go out. If not, I eye the right portions and order foods that say grilled or baked etc and can substitute steamed veggies for starches, things like that. Even then though... I try my best.…
  • I used to log as I go, but I find it easier to stay within my calories when I plan out my meals including snacks and if I need to change things I will.
  • @avir8: I am not sure if you are on botox for migraines, but I wanted to clear up where the botox is injected (at least for me - and I have been told by my doctor, that they follow a specific way they do it) First, it is medical grade botox and can only be done by a certified doctor. It can only be done every 3 months per…
  • I just got the dvds, I did live classes before I moved to another state and can't find a class nearby. Exhilarate is definitely a good workout. Sweat, heart rate up. Pretty awesome. Just have to improve my steps.
  • I log it all or else I am not accountable for things ... even if my diary is open.
