Not for me. I haven't lost any weight in 6 weeks despite being at a calorie deficit. I should be at my goal by now, but I am still 10 pounds away.

Eat a little less, move a little more. If your BMR is 1520, you should at least be eating that since it is the amount your body uses on a daily basis without adding in exercise. I would wait a week until after it is over. I got my period last Saturday, it was over by Thursday and today my weight is finally back down to normal from the 6 pounds of water I put on.

Definitely inches. Last week, I put on a pair of pants from 5 years ago and they fit. When I wore them before, I weighed 15 pounds less than what I do now. Skinny fat. SMH.

If her TDEE is 2336, then eating 2300 a day will not help her lose weight if she is not exercising. Those would be her maintenance calories.
