As others have said, weight loss is a very individual thing. So, if you stick to it, at the minimum you'll lose some weight, drop some inches and feel a lot better. Good luck with your journey!

Welcome to MFP! You'll find good advise (taken with a grain of salt) and good folks.

Something to eat at lunch would be lunch. If you haven't eaten since breakfast, you need to refuel. A salad with grilled chicken breast would do.

Eat a little less, walk a little. If you can do one, move a little more. The frozen veggie section is your friend. Buy in bulk when you can. Or, buy fresh and freeze your own. Exercise need not require "proper gear". Moving more should be a good start. A pair of shoes, shorts, shirt, tunes and GO!

Welcome to MFP! Motivation is key. Have a few short term goals and a big one. As you achieve the smaller ones, keep your eye on the long term one. Good luck!

Losing weight is hard. Being healthy is hard. Being fit is hard. It will take work. It will take dedication. It will take sweat and determination. It will be worth it!

I try to live by the 20/80 rule. Fitness is 20% what you lift in the gym and 80% what you lift with your fork! Nutrition is the key. Welcome to MFP!

Yes, but not just calorie counting. The food data also provides the nutrient levels for a given food. That is, IMHO, equally important.
-
Based on your stats as given - you need 96-100 grams of lean protein a day to maintain. If you want to increase lean mass (which helps burn calories) you'll need to lift some heavy stuff and eat a little more protein. That said, I'd shoot for 105 grams protein in around 1450 calories per day.

I normally do mine a dozen at a time.....add eggs to a pot of tap water. Bring water and eggs to a boil for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Rinse in cold water for a minute or 2 and refrigerate.

Welcome Katie! I know you know how this works since you have done it before........20% exercise and 80% nutrition. Feel free to add me as a friend.

Welcome! You'll find lots of good information and helpful people here. Friend request on the way!

Welcome! Most people don't understand that it is about 5 times more difficult to gain lean mass that to lose fat. And it goes slower as well.

That's not just a note of sarcasm you heard, it's the entire symphony!

Welcome everyone!
