  • I drink Shakeology for lunch nearly every day. When I dove into P90X, I followed the diet plan as well. I knew I needed to eat healthier...high protein, low fat, etc. But I can only take so many salads before I'm sick of them. The nutrition in Shakeology takes all the guesswork out of at least 1 of my meals each day. I'm…
  • You don't "have" to exercise. My brother-in-law got sick and quit eating...he lost 16 lbs. Not recommended/desired, however. Exercise multiplies the effort you put into eating correctly. Exercising builds lean muscle and increases your metabolism...which causes you to burn more calories throughout the day than if you…
  • It's possible you could actually require some additional carbs. The most common advice I give to new P90X folks is to "eat more". They'll change their diet and cut out too many carbs while increasing their protein intake...and protein takes a lot of calories to break down. Perhaps a healthy source of energy. My favorite…
  • It could be that your body is actually "hungry". Even if you're getting your requisite calories during the day, you could still be under-nourished...and that could cause you to be hungry. You could have 4 candy-bars per day and be fine as far as calories go, but your body would process that and say, "Hey...I need something…
  • Welcome! I wish you the very best with this & will be here to help any way that I can.

  • I used resistance bands my first time through P90X. I bought bands from Bodylastics...they're adjustable and provided great resistance. I still prefer dumbbells...but on days where I can't make it to the gym a $70 set of bands works just as well as a $3000 set of dumbbells. I also travel quite a bit...very nice to be able…
  • For those that are wondering, nervous even, of starting something like P90X, there's always the original P90. It's not "extreme" and also can produce some fantastic results. Really concentrate on what you eat. Exercise is important...but so is what you do the other 23 hours of your day.
  • I generally detox with a Shakeology Cleanse. It's a 3-day, nutrient-rich cleanse. Here are the instructions: SHAKEOLOGY CLEANSE DIRECTIONS * 3 Shakeology shakes per day * 2 cups of green tea per day * 1 or 2 pieces of fruit per day (optional) * 1 salad for dinner-can include fish or poultry * No dairy or extra sugars (this…
  • I overcame many excuses by using P90X. If you've got a DVD player & some resistance bands...you've got a gym. I lost over 20 lbs in my living room. Even though I'm still a member of my gym, the extra 15-20 minutes it'd take to get ready, drive there & back, etc. was a barrier to working out. Build in a recovery period and…
  • I'm a fan. I'll typically use them for core work. It's the variety that really gives you the benefit. The grip is different than with bands or a dumbbell. Your body has to work differently to do exercises with a kettlebell...it's the variety that makes them worth it.
