  • Ok- so new to this board, but I did have 1 main goal for Dec: -don't blow progress during Christmas. (managed to maintain) December was a tough family month. Goals for January: -average 15,000 steps a day -weight work 2x week -average 1.5 pounds a week My overall goal is to get back into healthy bmi range. Currently I'm at…
  • I'm 5'0" and my current goal is 124. (That number puts me in the bmi category of "normal".) Among other things, this lowers life insurance rates. :-) I started at 154, and am now at 127.6. So getting closer! I can already tell I'll probably want to go down to 120. I thought at 125 my shape would be slimmer, but it's not.…
  • Nope. But definitely low carb. Only green beans as a vegetable? Seems like a really good way to be unhealthy to me!
  • If you want one, go for it. Not for me-- nope.
  • Those numbers sound about right. I'm 5'0" -- so pretty close in height. Hooray to you for working out so regularly. In the beginning, I could only walk my dog around the block before becoming winded-- it does get better! Now, I go to the gym nearly daily. (I do still walk the dog! ) Kudos to you for making healthy…
  • Just wanted to concur with what's already been said.... eliminating a food group will not make you lose weight. If you are considering changing the way you eat, and if you are intolerant to gluten or pre-diabetic/diabetic, or possibly celiac, a short period to test if your body does better without gluten can be helpful. My…
  • Joy, you are an inspiration! I can only imagine how many people you inspire and help in your work each day with your story! Congratulations on all your success and hard work!
  • Went to get new pants, and fit in size 4 jeans! I've been altering stuff down (started at 14)... had no idea!
  • Weekly (I feed 4 people): Eggs bacon chicken (whatever part is on sale) pork beef, if on sale buffalo (typically only 1 pound) fish berries (usually blue, blackberries) tomatoes avocados plantains Brussel sprouts broccoli one of these: swiss chard, mustard greens, or bok choy Ozarka sparkling water with flavor but nothing…
  • Completely Awesome. Congrats!
  • While eating "clean" calories might be the same weight effect as eating the same number of calories in frozen waffles-- paying attention to what you eat and eating better foods will make you feel better. There is more nutrition in a cup of broccoli than the same number of calories from Popsicle. If you feel better, you are…
  • I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in January, and put on 500 mg of metformin once a day. I also went on a very low carb diet- cutting out all grain, sugar (added, not fruit), - I decided on the advice of my doctor to become Paleo. I no longer count calories, but I do track my food to make sure I'm eating balanced. I'm…

  • I will post with you! I started paleo on my doctor's advice, 90 days ago. The first 3 weeks were tough, but it has gotten so much better! I feel better, and many health problems are starting to go away.... Including rashes and headaches. I've also lost 23 pounds in the process. I have more energy than ever. Apparently, I…

  • Ghee is available at Central Market and also at Market Street if you have either.
  • My 8 year old would "shred" with me frequently. She will ask me -- are we doing Jillian tonight? Sometimes, she joins me for the whole thing-- sometimes, she only does a few minutes. :-) She's aware that I cut calories. while I would never put her on a "diet".... I certainly don't discourage any activity she's interested…
  • When I began MFP in January, I also downloaded STRIIV on my phone. I've made a conscious effort to wear clothes with pockets, and I keep my phone on me, so I can track my steps throughout the day. ( tracking all my daily steps, not just when walking for exercising). I aim for a minimum of 10k a day. It has definitely made…
  • 5'0". 139 pounds Small top ( sometimes medium) Size 8 pants
  • Completely wonderful! Congrats!!!
  • I finally figured out how to post those before shots. Here they are. Not a huge difference.... Turns out you can draw in your own....:) Sorry these are so huge!
  • Not sure if I qualify as a "success". I'm on day 27. I've only lost 2 pounds. ( certainly not 20). I have last an inch off my chest, 1.5 from my waist, and 1 from my arms. So keep in mind my results were modest, at best. 1) What was your workout schedule? I workout everyday. Skipped two days during camp. No.. Look at it…
  • Everyday. First thing.
  • I quit listening to the volume long ago. I watch tv or my own tunes while working it!

  • I've lost 15 pounds and inches doing 30 day shred and walking.
  • I just joined the ripped in30 group. My success has not been as large as I had hoped, but it has been there....so I'm giving Jillian 30 more days.
  • For me-- when I start a new harder workout, it takes about 3 weeks to see the scale move down. First it usually moves up a bit Everyone is different. BUt this has been a repeating pattern for me. Up the workout, gain weight-- keep plugging, lose extra after three weeks. Up 1, down 2 kind of thing....
  • We have a tamika (spelling?) which has a body fat % and calculates the number of calories for maintenance. (The body fat actually measures the % of water in your body, so while it isn't exactly accurate-- comparing this number does help give another thing to go by. I have seen some progress in this area. It has a digital…
  • ^^^^this^^^^^ Honestly, why continue to feed the trolls?
  • If I had an 18 year old daughter nd a 29 year old called, I would consider him a creeper, also.
  • Call her in 3 years.
  • Exactly what I was thinking. Looks like a troll post to me.
