  • I am very sorry. If you are not having weight related health issues, eat the donut if you want it. You will have time later to think about dieting. Grieve and recover first.
  • I was a resolutioner 4 years ago. I still go. I still act like a newb. I befriend new people, I don’t tell them what to do, I’m just friendly so they’ll be more comfortable. If I irritate some “regular” I could not give even one damn, get over yourself.
  • You asked a simple question. I will just answer the question. Yes.
  • Since weight loss isn't linear and your body doesn't reset at midnight, perhaps take a longer look at your intake. Perhaps if instead of 1660 per day you looked at it as 11620 per week, that may help. That is kinda what I do. I log my food but I don't agonize over every calorie every day. I look at it every few days and if…
  • I am one of those who cant be bothered with researching this. I believe (totally my own preconceptions) that the difference in age expectancy between someone who eats a totally plant based diet and someone who its the typical SAD diet would be negligible if all other factors are equal. Meaning genetics, environment,…
  • About three years ago I gave up my lunch hour, that's when I go to the gym. I go every day M-F. You asked, so you must want to change, keep at it and you will find a way to get it done.
  • Second C25K plan, I am somewhat of a runner. I have ran quite a lot of races up to half marathons. I have taken about three months off to heal some nagging pains. I started back last week with some run/walk intervals for a short period of time and I will work up slowly. Take your time, relax and work it up SLOWLY. You got…
  • The good news is you have found maintenance. All you have to do is reduce your intake by a couple hundred calories per day and slowly get to where you want to be. Congrats!
  • Sorry to hear of your diagnosis, my best wishes that you kick cancers *kitten* because cancer sucks! With that said, I don't know that I would be trying to eat at a deficit while in treatment. This is clearly a topic that you should take to your doctor, unless there is an oncologist in here, it is unlikely that anyone…
  • If the question is should you go to the gym or not, yes, go to the gym.
  • I eat out quite a bit, 2-3 times per week. I find that most website info is "close enough". After some practice it isn't hard to spot something that is way off. Although I do think inaccuracy in logging is a small problem, the bigger problem is logging consistently. I can be accurate to the gram in what I log, but if I…
  • I am a big fan of letting people parent their kids how they want. I may not agree, but it ain't my business. For my kid, 12yo boy, we talk about a balanced diet, we talk about about what macro nutrients are, we talk about goals and how you eat to fuel to succeed. We don't talk about calories in that context. I don't have a…
  • I lived off of them as a kid. Although I don't remember exactly, I am sure I pounded entire boxes. We do keep a box in the pantry now, but I can't remember the last time I had any. I like them, but they are total calorie bombs and I am unwilling to spend the calories very often. Frosted apple as a kid, brown sugar/cinnamon…
  • How long has it been? A month or so? There is certainly some water in there. I'd suggest keep doing what you are doing a while longer and get some more data. After about three month you might consider adjusting. Just a thought, make sure you are getting adequate protein, the other macros are less important when losing, but…
  • I don't really have much to add, I just wanted to say that I know you will be successful. I know because you didn't come here looking for validation for you preconceived ideas. You came looking for answers and you are open to suggestion. Stay that way, learn from the wealth of knowledge here. You will be fine. Just be…
  • This is totally correct. Even if someone is completely trolling, you cant call them on it.
  • Boiled eggs?
  • You have lost @ 1 pound per week, that's is a reasonable amount and a reasonable goal. If I were you I would keep doing whatever it is that you have been doing. I wouldn't change until the rate changes and I would adjust accordingly.
  • Nothing wrong with a new thread, but in the meantime..... http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/977538/halp-heavy-lifting-made-me-supah-bulky#latest
  • I don't know how new you are to this, but I have to say you have figured a lot out early. Good job!
  • Like any other way of eating, you have to figure out how to be on the negative side of the energy balance equation, in other words, a calorie deficit. Whether or not you are in ketosis will make no difference for weight loss. Figure your calories out, that will take care of it. Good luck.
  • Great attitude! You are exactly right, one pound at a time, it didn't get there in a month and it won't leave in a month. I also think it is awesome that you figured out that you have to eat in a sustainable way, no crazy diet ideas, just a solid plan from now on. You will do well.
  • If I could change one thing, it would be to remove moral labels from food/eating. No good/bad foods, no clean/junk and no "cheating". So, OP, because of that, I can't answer your question the way it was asked. I will say that if I eat too much of almost anything, I can get queasy. I love cabbage and it is very low calorie,…
  • I don't know if it is clean or not, I'm guessing it isn't since I was reported, warned and it was removed. Now to be on topic, I think the term clean eating is meaningless.
  • Slight correction, MACRO, not micro. Even that, just be sure you get adequate protein and fat, let the rest fall where they may.
  • If it were me, I would eat a little less protein and a little more fat, but that is a personal thing. I shoot for 1g of protein per pound of lean mass and .35g of fat per pound of body weight. That's my base and the rest can be anything I want, even more protein. Remember that you also need to rest, I lift four times per…
  • All of them and none of them. The will all work if you follow them exactly because THEY ALL CREATE A CALORIE DEFICIT. None of them will work long term because you haven't addressed the reason your were overweight. ETA: OP, please go and read this.…
  • I don't know your exact stats, I ran some generic numbers. I put you at 30 and 6'2". That gets a TDEE of @ 3200 calories. MFP already has the deficit built in. I am assuming also that you set you activity to "sedentary" in which case you WOULD eat back your exercise calories. What you need to do is make sure your logging…
