  • I'm wearing my black jeans. No really -- my BLACK JEANS. The black ones. Oh yeah, and it wasn't even a struggle to put them on. I just stepped into them and pulled them up. Like people do.
  • Hey! I wanna play next round. Can I find out who runs the challenge and ask them to add me for Round 33? Thanks so much.
  • Hi everyone. Looks like I am nearly a week late in finding you all. My plan for Lent has been 1) NO snacking between meals and 2) NO eating after 10:00 (I usually go to bed around midnight). Also, unlike some of you, I only observe Lent between Monday and Saturday (40 days) so Sunday is a cheat day. Very often I add a new…
  • Hi ladies! Do you know any trusted sources for recommended weight programs or routines? My goals are to strengthen my legs so I can avoid running injuries and to build upper body strength for a Tough Mudder. Thanks so much.
  • Nice work, everyone! I'm just seeing this. Can someone let me know if you do another challenge in October??

  • Agree x 2 That bat-flip by Bautista was the perfect example of a lot of emotion after a long, crazy inning. I would defend that one down to the ground. But if the stakes are not high, as in Motorsheen's example, than yeah, gimme a break.

  • Nice to meet you too! Congrats on reaching 132. That's inspiring. I have added a couple of strength training sessions per week as I train for the Tough Mudder in Sep. Love handles aren't my problem. It's all butt and thighs here. I did a marathon last fall but not interested in doing any more of them. I stick to about 5…
  • Hey, better late than never! Barbie thanks for keeping this thread going. It's great to see people my age committed to health I have visited Washington state several times, (skied Mt Baker, wine tasting in Seattle' concert at the Gorge) and Portland once. You and Becca live in a lovely part of the world. Also, I'm a bit of…
  • Allie - good for you! Tom needed to hear that. But wait -- he called you a spoiled B???? Unacceptable. Our husbands don't get to speak to us that way. Let's cut that off too. You're on a roll.
  • Carol you have to tell me what "too much wine" looks like because I'm sure I'm right there with you.
  • Penny - those are awesome pictures. What great family memories. Michele - thanks! And congrats to your daughter. This is my second Tough Mudder. I always work out better if I have something to train for. I did a marathon in France last fall but I don't really want to do any more of them. Too much time spent training and my…
  • My trainer has me doing goblet squats with25lb to build lower body strength for a Tough Mudder coming up in September. When that is over I may try a kettlebell routine. I'll be sure to check your link for ideas and technique.
  • Hi, Karen and thanks! I kind of LIKE being called Mousemom. Mouse is the nickname for my DD. I also have a DSD age 23 who lives about 2 hours away and a DS who has two more years of high school. If it's considered rude not to use your real name, mine is Jill and I live in Toronto. My DD graduated university (college) this…
  • Well you won't have to worry about me weighing in on politics -- I'm Canadian! So sorry to hear about the difficulties with aging parents. Mine just moved into a smaller house and never got around to packing so my DH and my brother and SL had to drive up and save the day. *sigh. See you all tomorrow!
  • . Congratulations, Karen! What kind of progress have you made? My heaviest weight was 164. I'm around 142 now and hoping to see 135 but it's bloody hard!!
  • Am I the only one with kids still at home? My youngest has two more years of high school left before he heads off to university. Mary congrats on the twin grand babies -- so sweet!! Joyce . All the best on your husband's recovery. My DD had a colectomy at 15 and we had 6-7 weeks of bag changes before she had the…
  • Thank you, too!
  • I'm 52 and about to do my 2nd TM. It is really a test of will more than strength or speed. So just....DO IT! Wouldn't hurt to do some hill training and upper body stuff ahead of time. And most of the injuries I observed were guys trying to RUN down the hills and messing up a knee or an ankle along the way. Just go at your…
  • Hi all! I live in Toronto and I'll be 53 in October. That profile picture is me about a year ago and I still weigh about the same. Trying to lose the last 15 pounds. Nice to meet you all!
