  • @Antiopelle , are you doing the Beck Diet Solution? I may pick that back up in February again. I've lost 20 covid pounds in 2022. One thing that worked for me was to log my weight everyday in a word document and then reflect back on how the day went (food and exercise wise). Taking the time to reflect back helped me think…
  • My January Goals: - Continue with shoulder rehab in January. I should be over the hump by the end of January. I'll evaluate how to get back in shape then. - Be able to put my own hair in a pony tail. Hubby has to do it now and he's not the best. It's passable. - I'm going on maintenance in January. I need to get back into…
  • @kdmontgo215 I hope this group can provide the support you want. Any idea what your challenges were over the last 3 months.
  • It sounds like you are using meat and protein interchangeably. There are a lot of plant based proteins such as beans and tofu. Also not all meat is the same. Most experts say cut out processed meat such as bacon or bologna. Next cut read meat out. Chicken and fish are better meats to eat. I also agree with other posters…
  • Happy New Years. I dropped off this group when I found out I had to have shoulder surgery. It's been rough. I'm 4 weeks post op but I've decided I need to get back into other parts of my health. I only gained a pound in the last 2 months, which is a minor miracle. Exercise is a few months out. So I'm here to pay attention…
  • @SherryRueter No Kitten month, I like it. @Antiopelle bummer on the cholesterol. It runs in my family but I didn't get that gene. Congrats on losing a kilo! I looked it up a kilo is 2.2 pounds for us Americans. @CeeBeeSlim congrats on losing 2 lbs Welcome @f1tafter40! I was feeling stressed yesterday. I had to take myself…
  • So sorry your father was a jersey. Hope you don't mind me saying so.
  • I used to weigh 125 and fit in the clothes in my closet. I didn't do well with covid and gained a ton of weight. I'm 130 now and hoped that getting to 125 would work.
  • Hello all and a Happy November. I lost 5 lbs in October. (Yippee). My goal is another 5 by Christmas. I'll hold tight through the holidays and reevaluate in January. I want to fit into the clothes in my closet. I'm not sure another 5 lbs will do it. I think 10 lbs would do it. How are you doing on your fitness goals? Where…
  • It is certainly interesting to see how people lose weight. I'm 5 lbs from my goal. I don't think I will be as thin as I was the last time I weighed that amount. Oh well. I plan to lose 5 lbs and hold tight through the holidays. I'll reevaluate in January. I do have an outfit for NYE that I'd like to fit into.
  • @SherryRueter thanks for the snack ideas @CeeBeeSlim WTG on the clothes fit. Off to town to people watch. Hallloween is huge in our town. Adults and children get dressed up. I'll keep my hands in my pockets so no one can hand me candy.
  • Hmm, I think you should listen to your doctor who has seen you vs. People on MFP that haven't seen you
  • Yes, what the previous posters said. I'd stay with the plan but pay extra attention to weighing / measuring your food and tracking if is only 3 or 4 weeks. I retain water like crazy with salt. Drinking more water helps wash out the salt. This may not be your issue.
  • How do you get your @ references to turn blue like a link? I think mine are just text. @CeeBeeSlim Congrats on fitting into your very old clothes! @Antiopelle What are you doing with your 4 days off? Something fun and healthy I hope. @SparkSpringtime69 thanks for the response on snacks and exercise calories
  • One more question for all of you. Do you eat your exercise calories? Why or why not. I'm only walking 4 to 8 miles which is only 200 to 300 calories/day. I don't eat them. Eating at 1200 calories, MFP says I'd lose 0.4 lbs a week. And you?
  • Hello all, Such a nice group of women. Glad I joined you. Let's talk snacks. What do you eat that is healthy, low cal, and easy. - A few days ago Hubby bought 2% vanilla yogurt. I was so proud of myself because I weighed it. After eating it I looked up the calories. Holy Moly 170. (I don't normally eat flavored yogurts…
  • @SherryRueter hard to describe shoulder injury. Rotator cuff irritation. Also messed up neck and ribs on that side. So I'm doing a lot of walking. Did 5 miles today up and down hills. I'm retired so I have time to take long walks. I should probably add that I'm 66 and working on the last 5 pounds. I'm not sure that 5 will…
  • It is wildly optimistic, but amusing.
  • Wow 90 lbs! Congrats. I'm working on my last 5 to 10 pounds. The last few can be tough, especially when we are a little older.
  • @SherryRueter thanks for the salad idea. I always get stuck looking for easy no cook lunch ideas. Inspired by all of your workouts. Hopefully, I'll slow you join you if/when my shoulder heals. I hate that weight loss is not linear. I went down a couple pounds and then back up .6. This is normal for me and this too will…
  • Hello ladies, I'm busy reading up to get to know all of you. My Whys: - I have clothes in the closet that I would like to get back into. - I want a smaller tummy - My dive suit was tight the last time I dove in the Bahamas. I had to have hubby help me zip it up. Going to Belize next June for more diving. @Antiopelle, where…
  • My hubby is taller and fitter. We go to the trail and he runs while I walk. We meet back at a specified time. I can't run anymore due to a foot problem. If we walk together, he has to go slower because my legs are shorter and he doesn't get exercised.
  • Hello, I'd like to come join you. I'd like to lose the last 10 lbs by Christmas. I have 7.6 lbs to go. I'm a walker and average about 4 - 5 miles a day with a 8 mile walk about once a week. I had a bad fall while hiking and messed up my shoulder so I'm working with a physical therapist. No handweights for the time being.
  • Very interesting. I used to do trend lines in excel to see when I'd hit my goal at the current rate. I wish MFP would do something like that. I do get a chuckle out of MFP when it says if you ate like you did today you'd weigh xxx in 5 weeks. Never has happaned.
  • @CamandJarvis Hope your grandfather imrpoves and you do the right thing for you. Tough decisions.
  • I am female and 66 years young from northern California. I’d like to join you again. I lost 20 pounds 3 months ago then stalled. On the good side, I haven’t regained the 20 pounds Round Goal: Stay on plan UGW: 125 SW: 134.2 Day/Weight/Comment 10/10: 134.2 10/11 10/12 10/13
  • I am female and 66 years young from northern California Round Goal: Stay on plan UGW: 125 Day/Weight/Comment SW: 132.5 Day/Weight/Comment 8/15 – 132.6 I was sick for a day so this low point will probably bounce back up. 8/16 – 132.4 Went for an 8 mile walk yesterday. Surprised that my weight didn’t bounce back up. 8/17…
