And this. Right here. That's what got me started.

This. Half way there.

Don't know how accurate that is, but please don't set yourself up for failure before you start! Never know till you try!

Yep. It's amazing how quick I'll balloon up if I have a higher salt intake day :/

I don't bother with counting and it hasn't interfered at all. The only thing is that if I'm eating a lot of refined carbs it's really hard to stay within my calorie goal, so opting for whole grains and less pasta, rice, and potatoes is a part of how I manage my day's calories. My husband is also watching what he eats and…

Awesome job - should be super proud of yourself!

I don't really like to eat breakfast, but when I don't it's really tempting around 9:30am (I wake up at 5am) to run to the coffee shop on my break and pick up something that's going to mess with my calories for the rest of the day. Eating breakfast is the only way I've been able to avoid that urge.

Good question, haha. People are telling me it's time. Had to give away most of my "nice" clothing due to it being inappropriate to wear in public. Been reluctant to purchase anything new though since I've still got a long way to go. Will be paying a visit to the thrift store in the mean time, I suppose.

Almost 75 pounds in seven months - a third of the way there!

Spend my free time on Skyrim right now - and for the foreseeable future :)

You can totally do it!

I started at exactly where you're at back in January. Same height and weight. Something clicked for me in January - had this realization that I don't see any fat 80 year old people walking around. I love life and intend to be here for a long time yet so knew that something had to change. What changed? I eat less. The first…

Flirtacious!

Everything above my waist. Now have a 3 size difference between my top and bottom. That seriously needs to change soon. Grr...

5'10" and about 320 right now. Eat anywhere from 1300-1900 daily. It all averages out to about 1700/day. Losing.

I log daily as well - always love to find new friends!

Started in January of this year. Pretty sure I weighed more last July, but have no idea. Anyway, this is the difference so far - nearly 60 pounds since I started paying attention in January. Still have a long way to go, but this is a good start :)

Most of the time just ignoring it works - they go away. Sometimes, I just gotta give in and treat myself too. I'm not a big fan of self-denial.

3 months in - still have a long way to go. These pics represent a nearly 40 pound loss - mostly in my face apparently. The ones with the green shirt are from pre-calorie counting and general getting more active. The ones in the brown shirt are from today.

Everyone looks great!

Log them and start over the next day :)

Hi! I've got about 180 to lose - feel free to add me!

It's a poison.

I still have a lot of negative self-talk, but find that recognizing it for what it is helps with not letting it get to me. I have so much weight to lose and am just at the beginning of the journey - can't let my own negativity jack up my progress before I even really get started. So yes, the doubt is there, but I know that…

Your mother and mine seem to have a lot of similarity. It's time to tell her that either she is leaving or you are leaving, pick a date, and stick to it. I went through this same situation several times over the past decade and this is one of the biggest regrets of my life. She is not allowed to be anywhere near myself or…

Eating basically whatever I want, just in smaller portions with a few tweaks here and there I'm losing probably a bit faster than I should be at about 3 1/4 lbs / week. At some point there is the likelihood that my diet will have to trend toward the healthier end, but it's not something that concerns me much. I eat very…

Still waiting for that to happen.

The same thing happened to me today. I just knew that losing 38 pounds over 8 weeks wasn't right - as much as it would have been great to be able to believe it. Our new scale is reflecting what makes more sense and a much more healthier rate of loss. Of course, it SUCKS to be back to "26 pounds lost" vs. the "38 pounds…

This is some of the best advice I've seen yet and couldn't agree more! I started second week of January 2013 @ 385. Now am at 347. Just keep on keeping on :) Seriously, I've approached it with the same mentality as above and for the first time in my life it's working...and dare I say...it's been pretty easy too. Hopefully…
