Roller Derby. Been playing for 3 seasons and aside from my kid it's most of my life. And yet, on the best of days I am almost mediocre.

Not why I'm here at all! I joined MY FITNESS PAL. Monitoring my nutrients and intake ratios and exercise in order to facilitate improved FITNESS (and appearance, health/longevity and athletic performance). I have no weight loss or gain goals. I have strength and endurance goals though!

Counting calories to meaning to lose weight? no. But I'm not sure that's what the initial poster meant. My 6 year old knows that calories are a measure of energy. That calories come from food and are used up with activity. Like a battery. You need calories and nutrients to thrive. He often asks how much protein is in…

I would suggest not bothering with this website for information on this topic. Try a vegan website if you are looking for support. Also- I see that MFP went over the top with April Fools and cat jokes. Sigh.

My cat eats Amicat and we purchase it from Vegan Essentials. He has been eating it for around 9 years and is in great health despite coming into our lives as a kitten with worms, herpes and a heart condition. He does still eat bugs he finds around the house. people need to chill

I like to eat food. I workout (or just live an active life) and eat back all the cals. My weight (avg) stays the same-ish and my body looks better and I feel more awesome. WIN

I've been wearing a heart rate monitor to practice and the reading seems to be averaging 1000 per 2 hour practicce after subtacting bmr. I plan on doing it for 10 times and averaging them out.

I don't consider the rice, peas, hemp and chia seeds in mine to be 'pretend' food. I usually just mix with water and chug.

I don't have a weightloss goal. I do find tracking kinda fun so propably will keep doing it until it's not fun. I have a history of eating disorders so this gives me that control and aim for perfection but now the aim is for perfect macros so it fills the void in a healthy way.

My family is vegan. I feel no need to justify it. We are all healthy and active and happy :)

Seems like a reasonable and healthy goal.

Mostly brown rice, beans and nuts. I got 90g yesterday and I'm vegan and don't eat wheat/gluten or soy.

I'm with you. What is he SUPPOSED to do with her? Assuming your gym doesn't double as men's bathhouse, she is safer by his side. I take my 5 year old in 'women's' facilities where no family rooms exist and have no intention of doing otherwise anytime soon. Kids don't tend to sexualize body parts the way most of the people…

beautiful!

sissiluv- the cutest thing about you is that you're Canadian too :) (And it's totally me, it's this year's headshot for my derby team. Thank you for making me feel better about that one comment.)

I count pretty much everything. It is not negatively affecting my fitness goals.

I think they need to make it more clear to adjust calories based on activity.

I feel insecure to, but for different reasons. I really don't like the thread on here that is all about judging people at the gym. Pay attention to what you're doing, meeting your goals, feeling good and having fun!
