But just as your body doesn’t know when a 24 hour day cycle stops and starts it also doesn’t know how long a week is. The point is consistency. And it can take up to a week to see results which is why people get so frustrated when think they had a “good” week and don’t lose anything, then next week have a “bad” week and…

If you go into the Apple Health app at the bottom are a few things to click on, one is called Sources. It should list all your devices that are going into the Apple Health App. Whichever one you don’t want tracking just turn it off

Instead of dieting maybe try adding more vegetables to every meal? Try cutting out processed foods and eat more whole natural foods.

This is my major problem as well. Especially in the summer with concerts and happy hours and baseball games etc. I don't have good advice because I'm in the same boat. All the above replies make sense, it's just hard for me (which is probably a different issue altogether.) Think about it this way though: a bottle of red…

I used the online calculators other people have posted here. BMR x 1.2 (sedentary) for TDEE.
-
Thanks, that's what I was unsure about.
-
I'm female, 41, 5'9 and weigh 235. Shouldn't really matter because I'm not using the BMR calculator since I had it tested.
-
I'm 5'9 and 235. I had my BMR tested and it was 2088 so yours seems right in line.
-
41. It definitely had gotten tougher. Feel free to add me!

Thanks for the support!

Thanks @CSARdiver I know.. I just am hard on myself sometimes. I had a day of beating myself up yesterday and am on to better mindset today and actually putting the $225 to good use. Luckily there is a lot of help and information on MFP so I'm hopeful.

I was mainly interested in the RMR. The V02 was part of package so I'm not sure how much worth it is for me at the moment because I'm very out of shape. I did the V02, not to Max which is different. My V02 peak was 27.4. That puts me in fair category, probably from my tennis. I haven't researched much yet in what that…

Hard to say. It's a lot of money but, I've probably that much on clothes or other things I haven't used to their worth either. The place I went offers weight loss plans, with dietician and exercise etc. I prob won't go there because I already belong to gym. I may get a prescription from my doctor for a visit with the…

Right that's exactly what I found. I'm happy my metabolism isn't broken and is actually functioning at a high level for my age. Just bummed that I haven't been able to put it to better use.
-
So... my RMR was higher than I expected. It's higher than any online calculators have given me. So on the one hand, great news! On the other hand, what on Earth have I been eating and drinking for past two years?! I'd like some help in figuring out my calorie goal for weight loss. I'd be happy with a pound a week. My RMR…

I made an appointment for next week. Let you know how it goes.

Where in Chicago? I live in Bucktown and would be up for meeting up!

You can add me too. I'm 41 with about 60 to lose. Need all the help I can get!
-
Please add me too. I've got 50-60 to lose. Starting again.

Foam rolling really works. It's almost painful because my hamstrings were so tight. Also certain yoga poses like downward dog will stretch your hamstrings.
-
Sounds like mine a bit. My lower back was getting super tight when I walked for any length of time. Turns out my hamstrings were so tight from sitting all the time, plus my IT bands were tight and pulling on my quad muscles and knees. Stretching stretching stretching. If need be, ask your doc for some PT for stretch and…
