Apple Watch and iphone are both contributing steps

Hoping someone can help me. I have my Apple Watch connected to MyFitnessPal and I’m noticing that it’s counting both my steps from my watch, but my phone is also contributing steps as well, inflating the number of actual steps. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

If you go into the Apple Health app at the bottom are a few things to click on, one is called Sources. It should list all your devices that are going into the Apple Health App. Whichever one you don’t want tracking just turn it off0
